yep. from a cold-hearted marketing perspective, he played it right. Anyone who bought it hoping for authenticity is the fool.
moreover, anyone who repeatedly complained about it is also the fool, as it created a free marketing via internet shitstorm.
It paid off in the short term, but his credibility is in the toilet, the bridge is burned with a majority of players.
His next project might suffer because of it. The industry is littered with the carcasses of hotshot directors who pissed off gamers.
Hmmm, I think some would understand that compromises are sometimes necessary. I agree the majority of those folks wouldn't populate this board.
Compromises are what got us here. Never Apologize to Libs is the mantra for a good reason.
