Much like the Demon’s Souls remake, this game doesn’t appear to have captured the raw fantasy aesthetic and atmosphere of the original. It just looks very modern soft with horribly “realistic” color values.
Also, not a hot take here, but Elder Scrolls games are hard carried by their excellent music. Asmongold hasn’t even played any ES games, and he still uses Skyrim OST as frequent background for his content.
I was replaying the original a few years ago and it was fun. I enjoyed being a speedy vampire with ultra strength and never satiating the blood so I couldn’t come out in the day anymore eventually. Being able to jump on roofs was quite fun. I never actually finished the game though…
I don’t think so. Mods don’t have nearly the reach that most enthusiast-level gamers think they do. The vast majority of people play games - even famously “mod dependent” games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls - entirely unmodded. The download numbers for even the most popular mods are dwarfed by overall player numbers. Mods just aren’t a big deal for most people. And I say this as someone who games exclusively on PC and aggressively mods almost every game I do play.
Was always going to be, given the level of passion and dedication I've seen put into it.
The mod has been in development longer than Oblivion and Skyrim combined, lol.

Unfortunately Bethesda's remake was first. If Skyblivion was first the Bethesda's remake would have been another Concord
