I thought night 1 was better but it was cool to see Joe Henry. I knew he wasn’t beating Orton. I respect Cena but was never a big fan of his after ruthless aggression era. 80s through ruthless aggression is my favorite time and I guess I’m old and prefer the guys I grew up with but still watch wrestling. I’m curious to see what Cena does now. Was surprised to see Io Sky retain and I imagine Bayley will probably turn heel. Double swerve with Heyman on night one was great. Should’ve been Rock interfering instead of that rapper I don’t know

Dodge v Ford Motor Company is the worst Supreme Court decision of all time.
These commercials were so overbearing, I hate it so much. Plus the main event of night 2 sucked. If the night 1 main event was the women’s triple threat and the night 2 main event was Punk/Seth/Roman, the show would’ve been way better, but got Cena can’t wrestle anymore.
Yea or at least have the Rock come to help Cena. But the Triple threat or Women’s triple threat was better.
People were shitting on Meltzer for saying this six months ago but I unironically believe that Dwayne knew he wouldn’t be able to show up for WM and only went to Bad Blood and Elimination Chamber to hurt the dirtsheets
Meltzer deserves the hates he gets
Who do you think Tiffany guess with? I think Cargill will at least be IC or US champ within a few months
Liv or Rhea. Both being because their characters need more feuds that don’t involve men
Cargill is on Smackdown. Liv and Rhea are both on Raw.
I forgot who’s on what brands woman wise to be honest, oof
It's no big deal, besides they disregard the brand split whenever they want to anyway
That wasn't the SCOTUS.
It was the MICHIGAN Supreme Court.
Surprised no one's tried to appeal to SCOTUS and get this overturned.
I’m so out of touch with wrestling. How does it work now? Wrestlemania is a 2-day event? And instead of being pure ppv, it requires a peacock subscription. When did all this happen?
I did happen across Cena cutting a promo on Cody Rhodes on smackdown the other night, and I thought it was surprisingly good - told an interesting story, and it didn’t sound as stilted or forced as the other promos I’ve randomly seen while channel surfing in the last 5 years. Is wrestling getting better / drifting back toward the old school, or did I just happen to see an outlier?
Yeah, the WWE shut down the Network in the US in 2020, and what was on the Network is now on Peacock.
Monday Night RAW is now on Netflix worldwide, Friday Night Smackdown is on the USA Network in the US, but I believe Netflix in a large part of the world so you can bypass it with a VPN, and Pay-Per-Views have been rebranded as ‘Premium Live Events’ (PLEs), and are on Peacock in the US, idk about the rest of the world.
Vince got ousted from the company after finally getting sued for sexual assault allegations, which meant that Triple H now runs creative. However, they merged with the UFC to create a new parent company called TKO, which itself is owned by talent agency William Morris Endeavor.
Wrestlemania and SummerSlam are two day events. Cena has always been a good promo.
It seems they are getting a little edgier and it’s better than pg era for sure. I still watch but not as engaged as I was in 80s to ruthless aggression. Glad that Cena finally turned heel. They started two night manias in 20 or 21 I think and they used to be on WWE network but Peacock has the network now
I thought it was a very good. Most of the matches were pretty good. A few head scratches like Jacob Fatu winning, but mostly solid booking. The lack of the Rock has been the missing piece of the Cody build. The Travis Scott appearance was awful, especially Cena reacting like someone helpful was coming
I was hoping Cena would be old school and use that chain to win. One of my relatives was watching with me and he is a few years older than me. We laughed because we recognized very few celebrities they highlighted. We just said I guess we are old. It was cool seeing Haku celebrate with his son
I probably didn't recognize half the celebrities.
I went to a party to celebrate it. I thought the triple threat was fun. The girls fight choreography was terrible, especially after the luchador spin fest.
I thought it was an ok-good PPV. Night 1 was alright except the main event and Night 2 was really good except the main event post Travis Scott. The Smackdown tag-team TLC match should've been on the card and not the New Day vs War Raiders.
Yea overall I liked it and it makes me interested to see where they go from here
On a related note, did you happen to see all the press about Roman being a Democrat that voted for Trump, or Paul Heyman on the Pat McAfee show a few hours ago? I was going to make a separate post about it, considering WWE's PR is absolutely horrific right now, but I forgot to save all the links to statements like Cena still liking Vince even after all of that nonsense.
I don't care about them being Trump supporters, considering the website I'm using, I care about it affecting the product, and considering they walked back from Chad Gable's luchador gimmick being from the Gulf of America and saying Gulf of Mexico about three times for good measure, they understand it as well.
Kayfabe.
Paul Heyman is heel, and playing it up. This will be all over the news, and will generate interest for people tuning into Raw to see what happens next.
Used to be a popular thing to do back in the day [Edit: Also just checked the comments, and they're spot-on about how in the 80s and 90s there used to be a lot of cross-political kayfabe to generate heat based on real life events.]
If it's generating a negative reaction, and they're a heel, then it's good for business (or at least, that's how the wrestling industry used to work in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s).
Leave it to Squared Circle to think Trump is the reason the WWE is where it's at.
I used to go on there a lot, but some of the people there can’t shut up about their politics. Like one guy went on a long rant about how he can’t be a fan of Taker anymore. Also Hogan saying the n word in 08 is worse than what Benoit did to some of those morons. And heaven forbid you say anything wrong about the lady that Vince paid to do disgusting things
For those unaware, Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son and then hanged himself.
I saw that that. I mean I voted for Trump but you’d think a product like WWE would be old he more politically neutral. People have their opinions. I can watch CM punk even though he is on the left. Not sure why they have to bring it up if it isn’t relevant to the conversation.
Grande Americano gimmick is funny. People were getting mad about the Gulf of America thing? Similar style gimmick as Mr America or the Midnight Rider.
But using politics to get a pop or heat isn’t new in wrestling either
why does everyone call it night one? You mean there will be more to this crap?
WrestleMania was two nights, with tickets for each night sold separately
Yea, it’s 2 nights now
