They’re still carrying on about crossing state lines. I know that’s important for establishing whether a crime is in the federal or state jurisdiction but since when is that so important for establishing whether something was a crime at all? I’m sure John Oliver, Rachel Maddow, or some other libtarded pundit brought it up and so these people haven’t bothered to question it.
The 'crossing state lines' thing is to make it sound like Kyle traveled halfway across the country to be there (like the BLM rioters), obfuscating the fact that Kenosha is right on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois. Kyle lived in Antioch, Illinois which is less than 20 miles from Kenosha. How much of this is just bad faith or genuine ignorance of the facts is unknown.
I think it's to say "this wasn't even his city" (even though he worked there), and that he only went there to create trouble.
But anyway, you must not assume that people repeat talking points for any logical reason. How often have you heard "Russia invaded a NEIGHBORING country". The morons don't even question whether it's more justified to invade a 'neighboring' country that can pose a threat to you, or one on the other side of the world.
Check out his Twitter. He asked what the difference between him and Karmello is and lefties flipped their shit in the replies

He worked there, and I think his dad lived there.
He lived there too. He lived with his dad in the summers and his dad lived there. Also it was like 15 minutes from his mom's
It was Anna Kasparian, and even she eventually figured out that crossing state lines means literally nothing.
Even Flufferboy2000, the prosecutor, didn't bring it up because it doesn't really do anything to help his argument.
It's because they're fucking retards who don't know the law but parrot things that they saw the media emphasize
