It's essentially revealing where a lot of the rats are as since these tariffs are based on what they are applying to the US, a simple solution would be to remove those tariffs.
The tariffs are based on trade deficit, not actual tariffs being applied to US goods. So if we import a bunch of stuff from a country but they don't import as much from us, we're now charging them a tariff.
"Non Tariff Trade Barriers" indeed are critical. Europe makes it really impossible to get things from outside, especially Germany, by doing just this shit.

You can't just base it off hard tariffs honestly. They'll find all ways to screw non locals by saying oh your things don't meet regulation.
