I saw a woman mowing a lawn. I said to myself, "wow, what an independent, confident woman!"
Then I wrote an article about how amazing women who mow the lawn are and took a few digs at men we no longer need AT ALL while I was at it and it got published in Women's World Magazine!
Women?! Mowing a lawn?! AMAZING THINGS ARE HAPPENING LADIES!
I saw a woman mowing a lawn making a sandwich. I said to myself, "wow, what an independent, confident woman!"

It's the same shit they do about black people and camping. Yes less black people camp and hike but the ones that do have always done so regardless of demographics
What's weird is this obsession to make everything proportionally equal. It's a sin if white people tend to enjoy an activity more than black people. I guess it's a form of pandering, women and black people will only go if you directly tell them to go.
Proportionally equal would be one thing. They’re trying to make it disproportionate in the other direction, to the point where you’re driven out of your favorite hobby by force.
I’ll leave it to you to speculate on who they are.
What's weird is this obsession to make everything proportionally equal.
That's a blatant lie to hide their attacks on "normal" people; whites, straight/"cis" people, men, Christians, and all the rest.
"Equal" only goes one way, and it's always against those groups. It's never about equality, it's about tearing down the System, and tearing down those who have been successful or happy.
the ones that do have always done so regardless of demographics
Most importantly they were very unlikely virtue signalling about it, possibly to gatekeep their hobby, or just to get on with it since it's about the hobby for them and not bragging on social media.
I have to laugh...
Why would a woman get into fishing?
They have a good relationship with their dad, who likes to fish.
That's it! That is the whole list.
Obviously, fishing doesn't make them more confident, and more confident women are not more likely to fish. It's the common cause, a good father, that leads to both.
Women People fishing having a hobby they enjoy, and being out in nature, lead to good outcomes?
It's obvious but, like OP, I have two issues with this. The focus on women...and that's it's a commercial.
Just let people do what they want. If women want to fish...they can fish. They don't need advertisers to tell them to.
OP, I'm curious, who was the ad from, and where did you see it? TV? Radio? Was it a company, sporting goods or something? Or some gay government Ad Council nonsense?
Also, can you imagine the outrage if you made other true statements about women? "Nuclear families, good marriages, and raising children make women happy," or "Limiting social media use may increase happiness for women," or just "Embracing traditional gender roles my increase happiness, for both men and women."
I could be a little over sensitive with the women being infused into everything. I'm tired of seeing boys suffer and constantly told they are the problem. While girls are always uplifted and given resources boys don't have access to.
You probably are. We all probably are, because we pay attention to this and pick up on it.
You're also not wrong in this case, though. Even putting the ad aside...I wouldn't be shocked to learn that organization is heavily female-led. It's all pictures of women fishing and stuff. Of course women fish, but that level of focus is deliberate. So, you might be hyper tuned on the issue, but you're not wrong here; this is some serious gynocentrism going on.

Same. And not just any resources, either, but the ones boys used to have, and their hobbies. Which would be fine - and even often welcomed - if it was natural, but the intentionality of injecting females into male spaces is a slap in the face.
Also, like with any DEI push, the deliberate focus drives down quality. A woman who genuinely likes to fish? Probably a really cool person. A woman who wants to fish because it's new, hip, and it's sticking it to the patriarchy? Likely insufferable and, if not, likely so normie they'll be pushing for "changes" to the hobby in a couple years, after they reach critical mass.
Just let people do what they want! Women can fish! Just stop ruining everything! REEEEEE.
Companies realized they can market a female version of a product (think of all the different fishing related gear they can sell) and mark it up 20% knowing women will pay it.
So you see everything marketed to women these days because they're more likely to buy crap they don't need in the first place and they'll pay more on top of it.
My problem is the gynocentric message of the commercial. Why is every activity being encouraged to girls, while boys are never encouraged to do things? Why does everthing need to pander to girls?
Fishing requires you to be alone with yourself for more than 5 minutes or silent in a group, women are entirely incapable of that.
Lol women have always fished
I agree. It's just funny to me we have to try and make women doing anything into the most important thing ever. The constant validation is sickening

I'm sorry but I need to shitpost this.
I saw a woman drinking plenty of water and said to myself...

I was flipping between channels. I tried finding the commercial on YouTube but couldn't. Here's the people who made the commercial.

Dang. For the most part, that seems pretty darn wholesome. Shame about the pushing of DEI and identity politics.
There's some focus on family, but it's mostly got the corporate photos of mixed-race couples and stuff too.
Can't the fishing just be about fishing?! Sell it on it being a good hobby (sure, even say anyone can do it), or a good family activity, or something.

It's more about invading men's spaces.

Does catfishing count? I’ve seen a lot of women doing that on dating apps.
I take my daughter fishing all the time, wtf is your problem?

I don't care if girls fish. Oh welcome to kia2
Oh hai Mahk.
That's my favorite non sequitur ever
