Man, that shit legitimately sucks. Massie is possibly the best in Congress, and his wife dropped dead after his Tucker interview. Very sad and, at least in my opinion, very likely not a coincidence.

He's literally accomplished nothing. He loves to introduce appealing sounding legislation that always ends in a dead end. Quite arguably, he's tremendous at the theater of being a libertarian politician, but little beyond.

It will never get anywhere, even though this is a no-brainer for every sovereign nation.
Due to the nature of the right of return, they might just pass this so that they can laugh when technically it doesn't apply to any rule 16s. See, they can claim the right of return at any time, but until they do they can also hide behind the technicality that they haven't claimed it yet.
Or just claim more than two since "dual" would technically only apply to that under legal considerations.

If they haven't claimed it, which involves actually traveling to the country and purposefully filling out the paperwork, they aren't dual citizens.
Otherwise any country in the world could disqualify any US politician or fed that has ancestral ties to them. Do you really want the UK to be able to disqualify our politicians by simply declaring them citizens?
The difference here is that one particular country doesn't turn down anyone who has the ancestry they like. No matter what crimes they commit, they have one escape route that won't extradite them.

So every jew is disqualified because Israel, a country they may or may not have ties to, gives them preference? Even if they are among the jews that condemn the state of Israel?
I've said it before in a different thread: there is no citizenship without a formal request or pledge of allegiance. Otherwise foreign nations have too much power over us.
How about dual loyalty trebuchet act. Where foreigners and "dual citizens" are directed to file their application for public office inside the launch vehicle.

Even if this passes, and further, even if Jewish candidates renounce Israeli citizenship after a law banning dual citizenship, Law of Return still applies. There's no solving this problem.
