Australia once had an adult themed show that aired in 1994 called Heartbreak High, that dealt with drug addiction, under age sex, violence, bullying, STD's and all kinds of such issues.

No, it's the first thing. Australian Law is INCREDIBLY paternalistic. People always point to Germany for being a Nanny State, but I think Australia should be the ones that get that recognition considering just how many laws are designed solely for social "reformation" (aka manipulation of social attitudes). The government is absolutely treated like a parental figure here and it's pathetic.

Out of all the anglo countries, I find Britain and Australia to be outright contemptuous of anime in general, quite anti-Japan overall, pretty ironic too because those two countries are where I always see some breaking news of catching notorious child abuser or pedo for many years usually very horrific case too like case about Peter Scully.
