They're flattering Trump on his own preferred form of media in hopes of ingratiating themselves. They're banking on his biggest weakness, his magnanimity, to duck the fact that they were every bit as complicit as any Democrat official or appointee.

Could be two things:
He's a weather vane and seems the way the wind is blowing and wants to be on the better side.
He's seen how unreliable the left is and how when Trump came in he instantly delivered on a lot of his promises so is siding with Trump as he knows no matter what he invests, he's guaranteed a return on it.
Clearly not, but one strange thing I noticed is how a lot of randos in right-wing spaces online (both on livestreams and in The_Donald) are saying how wonderful Altman's investment is and calling Elon "jealous" and a hater. I don't know but it feels astroturfed or botted. Nobody particularly liked or even knew about Altman if they weren't a lefty or in the industry already.
My opinion is that he's doing it to avoid getting raided like what Zuckerberg is doing, so if he is not bullshitting he should put his mouth where his money is and make chat gpt completely uncensored while also ACTUALLY open sourcing the shit.
I personally want Gabe Newell to come out and issue a public apology for catering to the regressive left and terrorist financing them and the DNC, all while firing all woke staff even if it means temporally shutting down steam discussions due to running out of moderators; this would be beneficial to gaming.
