Whoa, she changed a lot. I didn't recognize her either, but a reverse image search worked for me.
EDIT: I think I misinterpreted your title; I thought you were looking for answers, but I think you just meant she looks very different. I'll push my answer down to avoid spoilers...

Jewel Staite. Kaylee from Firefly. Jennifer Keller, Stargate: Atlantis.
Here's a gallery.
In my opinion she looked much better with a rounder face: 1, 2, 3.
Yeah, it was just to point out how much she had changed. I was looking up the cast of Stargate Atlantis and just chanced on her pic. The 'girl next door' look is completely gone.
Have you not heard? "Ghoul next door" is so in right now!
I think this image has been "glamorised" too much. She definitely looks a lot different now, but her features are more recognisable in other recent images.
Apparently she's one of those rare women who goes from "girl next door" in her 20s to "retired model" in her 40s. Perhaps one of the very few women who don't hit the wall. See: Melania Trump.
Yeah, she's gorgeous but she looked softer before.
I was right!
They all go for that gaunt look now, I guess it's better than being puffy and saggy with wrinkles when you hit middle age
Meh it’s extremely overrated, especially with younger women doing it.
I don't know if they "go for it" that's just the way attractive 40+ year olds look when they aren't fat and did not hit the wall.
I wouldn't even call that gaunt, really. Maybe I just watch too many old movies and shows from when people were healthy weights.
Its called plastic surgery and botox, my friend.
That makes clowns.
Jewel Staite, aka Kaylee from Firefly, Dr Keller from Stargate Atlantis, and briefly as a half-Wraith hybrid, and a host of other sci-fi shows.
RIP.
Edit: tbf those were 15-20 years ago...
Having recently done a Firefly rewatch and going through Stargate Atlantis it is quite jarring to see Jewel like this but as you point out it's been almost 2 whole decades since then.
This is part of the "problem" with watching and rewatching shows that aren't quite yet old but enough time has passed for the actors to have visibly changed. Hell, RDA was already 50+ years old when he started the first season of SG-1 and was probably playing a character a good 10+ years younger if not 20.
I think I do
Nah. You were thinking of that other woman.
Damn, I thought I was right. Thanks for letting me know, before I embarrassed myself
That one woman who starred in that one show.
That's Jewel? She doesn't even look like herself.
Why do all middle-aged celeb women morph into the generic plastic famine elemental phenotype
Dumb enough to trust plastic surgeons.
Would've said "female president in Battlestar Galactica remake".
Apart from that I never watched A and F is so many years ago. If you showed me a pic of her from F (without uniforms) I still wouldnt be able to tell.
Is this like a boomer thing?
I assume 'boomer' here means anyone over the age of thirty? :')
