Think the more telling one was the Florida one that narrowly lost because they used health to justify abortions when the average person would think that would apply to the mother's life not realising they would also apply that to MENTAL health.
devil's advocate: Trump's position on abortion was that it was exactly where it needed to be with Roe v Wade gone. Swing States voted to codify abortion in their state constitutions while simultaneously breaking for Trump.
I think Trump has the right political call regarding abortion: now that it's a state issue, don't touch it at the federal level. don't ban it, don't enshrine it.
I'm not sure how much it helped to push abortion to the states, but it was the best strategic move. Pro life, but just enough for Americans to stomach right now. The super committed pro lifers like Lila Rose can focus their efforts on state bills, which are infinitely easier to pass than a fairytale of a federal abortion ban anyway.
Abortion should never have been left to the will of the populace. Slide a ban of it in some 10,000 page sewage bill like the government does with everything else.
Errrr, depends on what you mean by Pro Life. If you're running on banning abortion entirely, yeah it's toxic. If you're running on "no 9 month abortions" then it should be fine.

And will likely hold up better to judicial scrutiny.
Absolutely. Now we just need to get it to stick as party policy.

Killing your babies isn’t as popular as neurotic liberal extremist women thought.
But Trump didn't run with a pro life platform. He ran with a states' rights platform that was mischaracterized by the far left shills in the media.
Imagine thinking any infanticide is acceptable levels. The Overton window has shifted to where people are just okay with it happening fairly broadly.
In reality it should be treated like murder. But we live in a post-christ society so it's gonna get worse.
What about Diane Yapp’s position?

I will, but I'll also tell the "you should refuse to vote for any Republican who doesn't demand a national abortion ban" crowd to STFU.
Trump said leave it in the hands of the states. He was right. He won on that position.
