devil's advocate: Trump's position on abortion was that it was exactly where it needed to be with Roe v Wade gone. Swing States voted to codify abortion in their state constitutions while simultaneously breaking for Trump.

I think Trump has the right political call regarding abortion: now that it's a state issue, don't touch it at the federal level. don't ban it, don't enshrine it.
