I don't know, I've only heard this about the Zapp character.
The movie Small Soldiers came out about six weeks after Hartman's murder, and the movie was hastily re-edited so that none of the toy soldiers are shown pointing their guns at Hartman, and a scene was removed where he says "I think I'm having an aneurysm."
A man murdered by his psychotic wife, who had been abusing him for a while without much help from anyone.
Who Andy Dick took credit for getting her hooked on drugs months before the night she did it and bragged about it to all Hartman's friends. He also directly drove a different actor to suicide in 99, molested Trump's daughter on Jimmy Kimmel's show (and a lot of other people), and liked to scream "nigger" at hecklers when he was on stage. But was still welcome in Hollywood for over a decade after and is basically the entire inspiration for Roger from American Dad as a tribute to how "lovable" he was.
Which is probably one of my earliest pieces of antisemitism, how much I fucking hated Andy Dick who is a walking caricature of every Jewish stereotype.
Luckily a movie theater by me is running the Miyazaki movies over the year, we just watched this one which is why I posted it. Seeing howls moving castle, Mononoke, and nausicaa in theaters has been a treat
Seeing them in theaters uncut was a treat. It was smart by my local movie theater to put them out on slow nights. They did the same with the LOTR trilogy
I have a great 75 inch QLED tv I got on an awesome discount, but it’s something else entirely to see it on full display at a local theater, the other upside is that the only people going to them are ones who treasured them. It’s a treat to spend only 12 bucks to see those works on the big screen. Especially when they do 2 dubbed and 2 subbed days. Howl and Mononoke on the big screens are only something I could wish for as a kid and finally getting that experience with an overpriced but local beer is very satisfying. I have no problem supporting local theaters when they do that and I have a free movie pass for being a veteran which is more than I could ever ask for.
Troy McClure was one of my favorite characters on the Simpsons. Now you can't even see him on a re-run because Phil left everything to his wife. Hartman and Geoening were friends, and when he realized royalties would be going to Hartman's wife, he ordered a stop on all episodes with Hartman voices. Like Troy McClure, Rainier Wolfcastle, Lyle Lanley, Evan Conover, Eddie Muntz, Lionel Hutz (aka Miguel Sanchez), and probably a few others I'm forgetting.
The last Hartman voiced episode for Lionel Hutz was Season 5 episode 6 Realty Bytes. Popularized by the meme: "There's the truth and, the truth."
That sounded odd to me, because I'm pretty sure that if you kill someone, you aren't allowed to inherit from them. So I looked it up, and she killed herself after being confronted by the cops (As an aside, she was an abusive nutcase and it's a shame he didn't leave her). I also didn't see any results online similar to what you're saying. I think you're mistaken.
It definitely was. He once got really nasty in that charming Andy Dick way bragging about it to Jon Lovitz and Lovitz almost beat him to death in a bar over it.
His last voice over was season 10. That episode where Bart took care of those lizards he thought were birds. Bart the Mother. I guess some deal has been made because they air reruns with him now.
Not that you need more things to watch but... News Radio from the 1990s has Hartmann in a main role, along with Dave Foley and Stephen Root -- it's probably the best comedy of the 90s (along with Seinfeld/Shandling, of course).
Love Seinfeld and Shandling. Recently watched News Radio for the first time. Great show. I remember it being on in the 90s but i was watching other stuff then.
This is why Zapp Brannigan sounds like he does.
He was supposed to be voiced by Phil Hartman, but after Hartman was murdered, Billy West voiced him as a Hartman impression as a tribute.
What we lost. He would’ve been amazing as Brannigan
Wasn’t it bender as well?

Jon Lovitz punched out Andy Dick when he found out.
What kind of bitch gets floored by Lovitz?
The kind of bitch that is now a background character on IP2 and even those bottom feeders can't stand him.
He was one of the best, probably the first celebrity death that really shook me as a kid, The Simpsons never recovered.
I heard they were working on a live-action Troy McClure movie before he died, I think he of all people actually could have made that work.
> playing a black cat
I'm glad he didn't live long enough to get canceled for that one.
I need to check that out. As a lifelong Simpsons fan I loved his work as Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. His last lines for the Simpsons cracked me up

Man, all those movies are so freaking good. Almost indescribably so.
Art.

I need to rewatch Howl
Mononoke was the first one I ever saw and was captivated. Howl was a close second because the artistry and story were superb
They're all on Max right now. They're absolutely amazing.

That's what I get for repeating what I hear. I didn't even try and vet the source, I just took it as that's what happened.
I wonder then if Andy Dick introducing Hartman's wife to cocaine weeks before Hartman's death was even real.
It definitely was. He once got really nasty in that charming Andy Dick way bragging about it to Jon Lovitz and Lovitz almost beat him to death in a bar over it.
The wife shot herself after killing Phil, why would he care about royalties going to her?

It's possible it was only for a certain length of time, like a decade or so. I thought it was permanent. My mistake!
That's why you're the judge and I'm the law talking ... guy.
He had some great lines. My favorite is “does this look like a man who had all he could eat”

Fuck his BPD coke head psycho wife.
