I guess they just hand out Nobel Prizes to about any retard on the street nowadays huh?

These dipshits are supposed to be “economic geniuses” but somehow actually think it’s possible to spread the wealth amongst third world shitholes. News flash, where the fuck do they think that money would be coming from? Wealth is finite, can’t just hand out a million dollars to every shithole that refuses to rise above savagery despite multiple countries sending aid. Don’t even get me started on how “inclusivity” is supposed to help these shitholes gain more wealth. Maybe it can, if they include white people.

There is actually an ability to grow wealth in 3rd world shitholes, that involves the growth in complexity of economic systems, and increased productivity and efficiency. You can't do that with hand-outs, though. It requires ingenuity, responsibility, discipline, and innovation within the people themselves.

Wealth is not finite. At no point has wealth been a zero sum game, that's a Marxist argument. Wealth (weather asset or liquid) can be built up as a result of having more of those assets or liquidities to transfer for better use.

Foreign Aid doesn't actually help anyone except people attempting to exploit the aid. It is actually guaranteed to damage the local economy by disrupting it with a large inflow of money that is being spent on industries not relevant to expanding economic complexity. If doctors and miners temporarily leave their jobs to become taxi drivers for westerners or bureaucrats who stole the money, the efficiency of the market collapses.

You know what has a long historical record of growing wealth in 3rd world shitholes and improving conditions for the locals? Colonization.

Only by the English. This is because the English system promotes exactly those types of behaviors. The other European powers (and the US) are kind of shit at it.

Some Dutch settlers weren't too bad.

Yeah, sure, then there's King Leopold, one of the single bloodiest serial killing demociders in all of Colonial Europe.

Yes, the Dutch, French, and Portuguese had some fairly reasonable and quaint settlements. Frankly, the French in North America were very accommodating, and favored integration. But each of them had moments where they truly went off the deep and and tried to kill or rape everything.

Really, it was only ever the English that tended to go the least crazy, when they inevitably went crazy.

Weren't some studies published that all this "foreign aid" is just a giant grift that does more harm than good?

Why rise above savagery when whitey keeps dumping free food bought from their friends at absurd prices

The prize is the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

It was not one of the prizes established by Nobel in his will. This prize was created in 1968.

It is not a Nobel Prize. It is wrong and misleading to call it a "Nobel Prize".

Not attacking anyone in particular, but this is a common source of confusion. Especially at this time of year.

The book’s conclusions – backed up by impressive empirical evidence ranging from ancient Rome to modern-day Nogales, a city split between Arizona and Mexico – is that “inclusive institutions” make countries richer.

Fucking retards

Same level of research that every marketing company in the west uses to make everything lame and gay, after putting a chick in it.

But their award is important for another reason. Next month’s U.S. presidential election could strain some of the democratic foundations of the world’s largest economy. All the more timely, then, for the Nobel committee to reward research that underscores the importance of robust institutions.

"The primary purpose of this award is to counter-signal against Donald Trump. We are a wholly and explicitly political institution."

I’m wondering if the authors wrapped their “colonization” message (indeed that’s what their conclusion is) in DIE language to get it approved as they found:

Democracy, the rule of law and the protection of property rights distinguish those systems from “extractive” arrangements where a small ruling class owns most resources and wealth.

Gee - that sounds like capitalism to me!

That's not the definition of democracy by even the most base interpretation, and "extractive" is a communistic reductionism of what they are really saying: "wealth extraction of surplus value of labor"

The Nobel committee has put the spotlight back on global inequalities. Bestowing its prestigious economics prize...

Reminder that it is worded this way as there is not actually a Nobel Prize for Economics. There is a "Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences" that was created by Sweden's central bank 74 years after the actual prizes.
