Nick was making/made a documentary for a studio in exchange for a four thousand dollar investment in Nick's kickstarter
Nick tried to micro manage every creative decision, steering content to validate his views while minimizing critism of his views.
He Isolated, overworked, verbally attacked and manipulated his coworkers.
He blackballed small indie devs if they asked for coverage too many times. He discouraged others from doing pro-bono coverage of indie games so he could charge them instead.
Mislead the community into the costs of the business in order to elicit more money from them in sympathy.
Even though he was not a top earner for Second Wind, he was paid 2nd highest. He replied: "I'm accustomed to a certain lifestyle and have a mortgage to pay."
His business decisions overspent and ballooned costs at Second Wind to over 1M, a 40% increase for no real benefit.
Nick constantly went for power grabs within Second Wind. Nobody picked Nick to lead SWG, it's just that nobody else wanted it.
Nick cyberstalked his peers in the industry to the point of making them uncomfortable.

Nick is the man who worked for 3 months to slander me and attack my character and business. It turns out it was all gaslighting and manipulation and harassments, part of a pattern that is revealed in this video of his entire tenure in the industry.
He was projecting. Everything he falsely accused me of, was actually his own dealings, unethical, and stalker-ish behavior.
Nick has done some damage to my reputation and my game with his lies and manipulated tweets. But, we're still here, and Nick is rapidly on the way out.
That appeal at the end for Calandra to distance himself from the team before their reputation suffers is so dumb. Nick was so obviously a snake by the time The Escapist failed that anyone who continued to willingly share a nest with him looks like they're probably a viper too. The only defence would be claiming a deep social naivety about how things work, but that appeal shows way too much self-awareness not to contradict that claim.
Instead it's just another signal to their deeply naive patrons and supporters. "Hey, we knew nothing about these ethical violations, it's all the fall guy's fault. We totally didn't knowingly help him all the way up to the point he stepped on our toes personally, honest!"
I don't really doubt that Nick is the the worst human amongst them, but it's probably only by a margin of inches not miles.
This is a feminized defense that only works in a feminized society, and judging from some of his other comments ("I'm accustomed to a certain lifestyle"), this guy is a a thot-level sociopath. I have seen this line (or a knockoff of it) from a handful of women who got Peter Principled in over their heads, compensated by creating a culture of "Yes, Ma'ams", and crashed their organization.
Oh I'm talking a defence for the rest of the staff being innocent here. That Nick Calandra is a cunt is a given at this point.
I'm just saying I'm not buying that the rest of the staff were just totally innocent babes oblivious to, and not complicit in, any of this bullshit when they thought he was just decieving the public with quid pro quo.
Imagine having the balls to say this, yet believing yourself to be a good, considerate person.

Wow, a guy acting like a piece of shit, as it turns out, is indeed a piece of shit.
It's nice to know, but the writing was on the wall the second he opened his mouth.
Putting up with him that long was a group manipulation effort that you participated in if you let him bully the entire group. Just band together and oust him if he's being that way. There was no sense in letting him run things that way. He doesn't get to wield an audience against you if you don't let him have one.
All he can do is piss and moan like the jerk he is, and that's all it would have been. Instead you let him control you because none of you stood up until it was too late.
The lesson to learn here is don't let people fuck with you. It's a super hard pill to swallow. I know. I've had to deal with it too. And in hindsight, my group let it go way too long too. The more you let people get away with it, the more they will.
