Syria was just such a shit storm along with most if not all of 'The Arab Spring'
Turns out, those rulers and regimes were keeping all the Islamists in check and when they were either ousted or weakened they came out the woodwork.
If the West didn't get involved in Syria and especially Libya, there probably wouldn't have been a migrant crisis at all.
Pretty much universally true. We're manufacturing all our own problems and enemies...and it's about the only manufacturing we still do ourselves.
Imagine the young United States, right after destroying Tripoli for sponsoring pirate ships, using the momentum from that victory and saying "Cool, we will now destroy all kings and tyrants around the earth and impose friendly 'democratic' regimes. Death to authoritarians! Liberty and justice for all!"
It's completely antithetical to our founding principles.
I guess the only solution is to bomb them some more. All Hail Our Democracy.
Eh, the whole 'saturation bombardment' thing worked pretty well and kept those slave-trading scumbags away for a hundred or so years. I blame this whole 'nation-building' thing.

It's not saying that Syrians are ants, or should be abused or exterminated. It's saying that abusing Islamists (which are a political group and not an identity group) would be abused by a despot.
The same families that got obscenely rich off the backs of European colonial empires back in the day, extracting taxes from their subjects and sending poor European boys to fight their wars, are now pushing the lie that Europe got wealthy from colonization. When in fact, Europe wasted enormous resources on colonization, maintaining globe-spanning empires isn't cheap after all.
But once those empires could no longer be maintained (largely on account of a certain Austrian painter and his Japanese collaborators), they devised a new strategy. Why bother maintaining an incredibly expensive empire overseas when you can just keep those former colonies destabilized and make it easy for the people there to arrive in your countries?
All while pushing white guilt to morally blackmail Europeans into allowing themselves to be displaced, the same families that got rich off of colonization then continue to get rich off of this more efficient form of colonization today. Ultimately at the expense of both their own people and the countries being drained of labor while men who are young dumb and full of cum get swindled into making the dangerous trip over to the West by people smugglers promising them opulence and white pussy. Of course my sympathy for these chumps runs out the instant they insist on acting like entitled savages, no mercy for would-be conquerors.
If there's one thing the US government does well, it's turning roughly secular middle east nations into Pisslamic shitholes.
Gaddafi literally said if he was removed from power then Europe would be flooded with migrants.
So of course we helped kill him, turn his country into an even worse shithole (removing any excuse we had to do so), and his prediction came true.
