This post is why i support the right using cancel culture. The left are way too comfortable using death threats and we need to break them of it (twitter.com)

So this is a tricky one but hear me out.

"Cancel Culture" is not the same as "Consequence Culture" or even "the Rule of Law". People are saying the Right should copy the Left and cancel their enemies, but that's wrong. These Leftists aren't saying mean words, they're uttering threats. They shouldn't be fired, they should be jailed.

The whole "the Right should use the rules the Left has set for them" only serves to cover for the cowardice on the Right that completely fails to demand actual justice and settles for "giving them a taste of their own medicine". Having a bad opinion is not equivalent to calling for political violence, and we shouldn't accept that these people are walking free.

The Right shouldn't "cancel" individual retail workers, because that's gay and cringe, not to mention the fact that most Leftists don't work, which makes the tactic ineffective. Cancelling someone doesn't change their mind, and it makes you look fearful to others.

They absolutely should boycott companies who "support LGBETC", have DEI policies, pay for employee abortions, etc. Rightoids have money and companies will do what they think people want (especially once the ESG money dries up). Not only that, buy up the shares of these companies or do business with coops where you have a chance to vote on executives. Make sure they know where you stand as it relates to their business. Make political donations, not to the candidate you like, but to every candidate that will agree to your terms.

The Left took control, over a period of decades, by identifying and infiltrating all the levers of power. We can do that too, but it will take at as much time, resources, and perserverence as they put it.

The question you have to ask it: Am I as committed to my country as the Leftists are to destroying it?

Nope. Fight fire with fire. We learned this lesson during gamergate. The only thing that was even remotely effective was contacting advertisers en masse to push for cancellations.

And we had cucks like you complaining about “using the left’s weapons” back then, too.

I disagree. Ultimately you also need the grunts to just stop with their threats not the corporations. To do that you need to target the grunts

As Rush Limbaugh proved you need to target the grunts to stop the corporations.

So this is a tricky one but hear me out.

Yup. I, and many others, are rightfully conflicted.

I don't agree with cancel culture in principle, but it's also fun to watch the people who've pushed it squirm.

Also, there's a difference between things like "hey, so maybe men shouldn't be in women's bathrooms," or "men and women are different," or "I'm a Christian and I don't believe in gay marriage," and "BLOW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF!"

It might still be "cancel culture," but there's also a major difference in scope here. This isn't mere political difference. This isn't "they said something I disagree with, let's ruin their life." This is "what in the absolute shit did you just say, you fucking psycho?" Doesn't necessarily make it right, to be clear, but I do believe there's a real distinction.

Also, cancel culture aside, it's certainly fun to see these monsters shamed, too. These people have never been confronted, but now the right is mad, and these leftists are saying such absurd things and drawing their attention. It's kind of lovely. Even if on principle I'm not sure how to feel about it.

Lastly, there's also an argument that, by using something similar to their tactics (I get and agree with your argument to not embrace it completely, but there are similarities), we might be able to end this scrouge. Use "cancel culture" to end "cancel culture." If they get hit with their own nonsense, maybe we can calm everything down. I know that's a pipedream probably, though. Entrenched leftists won't learn or change their ways.

I see this as cold warfare. If one side says no we can't use this very effective tactic while the other side uses it relentlessly, then that first side is just going to lose barring a miracle. It's like if one side just stuck to swords when facing guns

They have intentionally gotten people fired from their jobs.

Again, I do think it's different since actual death threats are slightly different than political disagreements, but at least some of what they're accusing of being cancel culture does seem very similar.

Some on the right are "canceling" people. Again, for death threats, and that's an important distinction. But it's not a mere "boycott."

On Reddit you can get banned for suggesting that 'a physical place should meet a metaphorical misfortune', e.g. saying that L.A. or San Fransisco should burn (in reference to the race riots or the crime epidemic).

Also, 'wishing someone dead' is also a bannable offense.

That's what the standards are of these self-appointed holier-than-thou Big Tech lefists.

We would probably have been fine if they made even a token effort to pretend the rules were rules and not just a tool to use against their enemies, but they simply didn't have the self control for that.
