Dude, just look at the "Earth's Historical Logs" episode.
Aryan man sees the degradation of humanity (fat thots included), steps in and stops it, and his kid gets trooned out and abdicates the throne to chase the bussy.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes is such a good sci-fi. Forget that it's an anime. This is space epic sci-fi done right.
I love the bankers being behind pushing both major galactic powers into war.
I haven't encountered any piece of "not-blatantly-dissident" media as accurate and truthful about the way the world actually works than LOGH. It really is a phenomenal show, even for those who don't like anime. Maybe particularly for that audience, in fact.
Democracy has never been a good system. The US was not designed to be a democracy - it was corrupted into one.
That said, democracy did not put the ruling class in charge. Democracy would have seen Trump still in power - it was blatant fraud that put the current regime in.

Absolutely benevolent monarchies with a perfect and immortal ruler are theoretically the ideal government. Unfortunately god is in heaven, not on earth. Without that condition, even the benevolent part is just theoretical fantasy - but even if a good and just person did rise to power in that system (which is extremely unlikely with the most generous interpretation), it is one dead body away from being another authoritarian hellscape.
This is why leftism doesn't work. Leftist political ideologies aren't based on observations of human behavior. They're religions based around worship of men instead of gods, designed in such a way that they are ideal for sociopaths to use as a stepladder to power.

The anime? It's Legend of Galactic Heroes. Extremely long space opera that is more political commentary than military scifi drama.

I like the hand-drawn look for the spaceships too. And with AI the process of 2D animation can be sped up bigly. 3D just looks jarring unless you use an animation style with no lines, like Wind Waker and BotW/TotK do. But the lines are a big part of the appeal of LotGH's spaceship designs, it's supposed to look like concept art for a spaceship that someone wants to actually design and build.
Articulating the charm of the 2D look is difficult I admit, and ultimately it's a matter of taste anyways. I also know that a lot of people will cry about using AI to expedite the 2D animation process, but they can go ahead and cry. The only thing that matters to the vast majority of the audience is if it looks good.
