He can dye his hair. He has a square face and jawline. And maybe he's getting himself the Marvel body for the role. I mean Chris Pratt played a chubby slacker before getting cast as Starlord and dude got bulked up.
I guess I'm not seeing the issue here.
The issue is this is made by Hollywood in CURRENT_YEAR so we know they won't do those things. Props to them if they actually do allow a masculine character on screen. (and don't humiliate him one way or another)
