Wow, I had no idea Australia was that small. Even the Philippines has over 100M people.
Crunching the numbers, 27 women murdered by men / 123 days this year is "0.2 women" murdered per day or 1 female victim every 5 days.
For comparison, the US male-on-female DV murder rate was supposedly 4 women/day in 2019. Australia is roughly 8% of America's population, so the equivalent would be "0.32 women" / day or about 1 female victim every 3 days. But that's just the murder rate of male-on-female DV, not the overall male-on-female murder rate, which would be much higher. How impactful are these stats? They're not pleasant to think about, but I feel comfortable in saying there is no atrocious systemic culture of wifebeating in the US.
So again, I could be missing something, but this sounds like a classic case of the "one victim is too many" mentality that ensures TERFs will never, ever stop trying to exterminate men because the mere existence of bad male actors means men are evil.
