Yea, looks like cancer. Recommended is now a giant grid with huge thumbnails and the video description and comments are in a tiny sidebar.
So many websites are following the same retarded trend and boy do I fucking hate it, dumb it down so much it's like a fucking picture book instead of a functional website.
Have been using freetube for a while now. Constantly making sure adblock / ublock was up to date to bypass the "adblock isn't allowed on YouTube" got annoying.
Think YouTube minus the annoying adverts and other bullshit. Like filtering out shorts.
Download the client, you can import your subscriptions and playlists from YouTube, make new ones bit you can't comment on videos. Not that there's generally much to say.
I think it bypasses the stupid id for sensitive content too. So if you like watching dash cam footage without giving Corp your details.
Brave browser has has auto ad block both on desktop and smartphones, you can have the audio play in background after you allowed it in settings, no pop out tiny screen on top of other apps though
Mine looks the same, but I only am ever logged in on my TV that has Smarttube app. I almost never get any of these new things, albeit there was a time when it was bitching about an ad blocker. That's Brave on Linux with a Pihole, so I have to be a pretty niche case
I took the RSS feeds for the channels I watch regularly and shoved them into Thunderbird. That forces me to think “do I actually want to watch this video?”

I guess the diversity UI designers had to justify their existence again and came up with this shit.

I can’t remember the last time YouTube had a layout that didn’t suck shit tbh.
i unironically want youtube's coders hands broken
they only need to maintain the site
My Playlists are now no longer tabs in the sidebar, they're their own page. sigh

Hardly surprised it's gotten even worse.
what's freetube? how does it interact with playlists/subs?

I haven't been hit, yet.
Google knows I disable every new feature they throw at me, so they don't bother testing things on me anymore. I'll get hit when it's fully rolled out.

Is this why the Autoplay option turned itself back on again?
no it looks the same
What did they change?
