For example, a game gets an update that censors a sexy female character. People complain to the devs and then a short time later, they roll back the update and restore the character to how she was before. Have there been any examples of devs actually listening to people's complaints and undoing woke shit?

Anheuser-Busch has been desperately rolling it back for months. It's too little, too late for them though. The problem is that these companies don't care about people bitching about them on twitter. They care about the dollars. By the time they get the message, those customers are already gone.
In order to fix the gaming industry, gamers need to be willing to walk away from companies they used to love to let them be a warning to the rest. Unfortunately, gamers are some of the most FOMO affected idiots out there and have taught these companies that they might throw a fit about something, but will then buy their game anyway. Until this changes, they won't change either.
Don't even pirate that shit. Piracy is an important audience interest metric, they DO pay attention to it. Gamers need to cut off the companies completely.
Shit, in college we used to celebrate midterms and finals by buying a bunch of Buds for a party. Some of my favorite memories. Now it’s been ruined by the fags and the Jewish agenda, hate to see it
No, can't really remember under the 'Woke' brand, especially after the censorship. I do remember one but not woke:
Ubisoft was going to censor details in the map and game for Rainbow Six Siege GLOBALLY to ensure they could sell it to China. After backlash they didn't do it and made a seperate China version.
I can only think of one other example personally but it was before it released to customers:
Warframe one of the characters ass wasn't as good as advertised, gamers complained and an update just to improve her ass was done. I am being 100% serious!
The key part with these examples was it was BEFORE launch to the public so they were responding to feedback before launch. The censorship AFTER the release and just done in an update doesn't seem to get the same results, maybe because they have your money already.
It just means their future games might suffer because customers are cautious of them essentially taking back content.
Warframe is run by some of the horniest non-porn-game devs I'm aware of. Despite the fact that they're pretty deeply infected with the woke mind virus, they seem to get away with having hot female characters because almost none of them have actual faces.
I'd say they were closer to the risk of becoming cancerous with the original team as they were getting burnt out on the games development.
The change in leadership stopped that as the old team went on to make something new, the younger team who worked with them for years got promoted (most important of this was Pablo who plays the game so understands what needs to change) and it's been getting better since.
There's still a bit of lefty ideology in certain aspects but it never overtakes the game itself as they make hot characters as look at how many are currently simping for Protea Primes' ass.
The following is not undoing woke shit and not censorship of existing characters, however I feel it bears mentioning.
Manjuu (AzurLane devs) got their asses slapped this past week for revealing the final shipgirl (HMS Anson) from a class of battleships (KGV-class) that had already been implemented in the game for several years. A loli that didn't appear related to her sisters at all or fit in with the theme of the class. Seems that the devs were actually serious about this decision and it wasn't a mistake or a pre-April Fool's joke. The reveal got enough pushback that she was removed from the event update prior to it going live today.
These are Chinese/Shanghai devs, but this is evidence that the fanbase screaming across multiple regions does actually work for gacha games at least. Because money is king to those types of games.
I don’t think I’ll be celebrating this one.
What about this ship screams "loli" to you? this ship has to be a tall girl with vast tracts of land.
Oh I'm not celebrating this victory either. The lolis have their place with certain ship types (submarines and maybe destroyers) but not battleships/dreadnoughts
Did I misunderstand? It seems they were going to release her as a loli but stopped due to pushback? So isn't that a win?
Personally I'm not anti loli but as someone who played a lot of Kancolle back in the day, they are more suited for smaller ships like destroyers as you said. And gotta make her match her sisters in her class somehow.
I got my words jumbled up. It's a win in the sense that Manjuu buckled under pressure from fans/players demonstrating that they can push back against game devs.
It's just displeasing that with all the lolis already in the game and the fact Manjuu got away with the Nagato-class and other BBs as lolis, it took players this long to cause a major stink. Most used to not care about inconsistency among classes, or ripoffs, but a completely different body figure was enough.
I see, thanks for the clarification. I had a lot of fun during my years of Kancolle, but part of me wishes Azur Lane was around when I had all of that time on my hands. Sounds like the devs are pretty based and I just don't have the time to justify jumping into it.
Everyone here has forgotten about how we successfully protested against Beamdog's slam against Gamergate and its transgender insanity?
I remember the furor about the tranny they inserted into Dragonspear but otherwise don't know what you're talking about. What happened?
In a Baldur's Gate expansion, I think Siege of Dragonspear, they had included some anti-GG BS as well as a tranny character. We protested, and they gave in.
In what way? I remember the tranny thing and vaguely the anti-GG comments, but that was almost a decade ago so I don't remember the specifics and I certainly don't remember them caving.
Not specifically woke, but some form of relent.
In FFXIV, in the Shadowbringers expansion, there is a raid series crossover with Nier Automata, and you can get the entire 2b costume to wear. The pants part of the set actually changes the butt shape of your character to be quite juicy, and initially they changed it because a few crybabies whined about how objectifying it was.
However, the resulting backlash from reducing the butt was enough for them to put it back the way it was, where it remains to this day.
I imagine the game and the company have to be pretty far gone for it to happen in the first place. So the people doing it don't care about a reaction.
Maybe the censorship of female outfits can get rolled back, since it's often the selling point, and pornography, not to mention lolis, has its own support within the left.
But in case of blacks, sodomy and trannies there wouldn't be too many people willing to voice their opinions, and those who are would be heavily suppressed.
That said, Ecumene backpedalled a bit with their upcoming game, although I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
Also Korean devs apologise and remove Megalia stuff (Nexon, Eternal Return, Limbus Company, Stellar Blade), but that's a different landscape.
