When we hear “deep state,” instead of recoiling, we should rally. We should think about the workers otherwise known as our public servants, the everyday superheroes who wake up ready to dedicate their careers and their lives to serving us. These are the Americans we employ. Even though their work is often invisible, it makes our lives better.

That second quote... whew, lad. Over a decade in government employment, and I can honestly say, and swear to God as the truth, that about half of my coworkers just held chairs down. Including most of the managers.
Also have over a decade and can confirm. Lots of people are just there to take up space and absorb contract dollars and pad diversity numbers. The government just loves to hire blacks and they're consistent underperformers.
The worst are black women. It's not bad enough that they're bad at their jobs, but they're also incessant gossips to the point where it actively prevents me from getting my own work done.
