Being unable to fully talk about a subject, especially a historical one, naturally invites doubt over if it truly happened the way it was reported and this can lead to doubts it even happened despite evidence.
The shit that covers this actual issue, is the 'FreePalestine' crap as this was more a 'fuck around and found out' event as I don't remember Jews assaulting in paragliders and technicals to murder and kidnap germans into an area where a concentration camp would be to get annihilated by Nazis in response.
I think the attack was known to happen beforehand but with a compromised 5 eyes with Iranian sympathisers it was worse on casualties than expected.
This ruined not only Israeli military's image but also Netanyahu's political career so on both regards they went 'fuck it' and decided on decimating Gaza as an example. The surrounding Muslim countries weren't expecting it this bad either but also didn't want Palestinian refugees so kinda went 'no this is awful' but offered little physical assistance.
While in the west, both the Jews in institutions of power and just sheer numbers of Muslims in the countries are both pissed with the right mostly distant from both thanks to prior sidelining mostly staying out of it and the left trapped in wanting to cuck to the Muslims but scared the Jewish institutions will cut off ALL support of their groups.
