Expand that - no corporate entity can own land, only actual residents of the state in question can.
Though I favor starship troopers style over land ownership, which makes more sense in the modern world. Anyone can prove their commitment by risking their life and it's not heritable.

Read starship troopers. Everyone that wants to, is given the opportunity. The primary condition of service is that it has to be a personal sacrifice, and it has to be dangerous.
