I can remember on youtube on twitter on facebook where leftist would ask "quick! define what woke means" and similar to religion. everyone would have their own interpretations of it. some think this. some think it's that. so on and so forth. so i came here today to ask what is woke?
because depending on where you ask this question some define woke. as pushing an anti-christain ideology. others say having queer people in your work makes it woke. or... having a none white original super hero is woke.
now for me. how i define woke. is the idea that something is propped up on idea of skin color. sexuality. or gender. and to me those are the tenets of wokism. now some people might say that the focus on those traits are just the baseline of woke. but the real problem is allowing non white, females, and queer in entertainment. is the real issue. i don't agree with that. but some users here will.
anyways. i wanna know you can define wokenss. because if we can it would better allow it to take hold in the mainstream. instead of it looking like anti gay anti women, or anti non white.

Woke is marxism applied to race, sexuality, gender. Basically you take the marxist class struggle and oppressor/oppressed and apply it to immutable identities.
The oppressor is always bad while the oppressed is always good, hence why discriminating against whites is considered moral while discriminating against blacks is considered evil.
Woke does not require proof, you can point as much as you want to the history of slavery or that the gender pay gap or 3/4 girls on campus get sexual assaulted are fabrication they will still believe it. It also holds that the daughter of Obama or LeBron's son are oppressed while a poor white guy from Appalachia is privileged.
You can see the same double standard when it comes to immigration, white culture is bad and needs replacement but POC cultures need protection.
Now you take all the hypocrisy and absurdity that is woke and put it in media. It ruins anything it touches. Dr. Who special highlights what representing woke in media looks like, it borderlines on satirical of woke because of how absurd being woke is.
Woke as a movement should have died fast but minorities and women liked the new power dynamic so now we live in an absurd society, a clown-world.
So lets recap:

In all aspects is a religion, those that are part of this religion are very zealous and there is no attornment. Christ forgave our sins, there is redemption in Christianity, there is no redemption in "woke-ism". For me marxism is a religion much worse then any other and has caused more death and it will cause more death in the future.

see i don't know what you mean by the history of slavery. usually the left are pretty spot on how it happened. which groups were effected. and how long it went on for. so maybe in your reply you can enlighten me on what you meant by this.
Next up is the gender pay gap. another idiot. listen, while i can't claim with 100% certainty. but... the gender pay gap is alittle complicated. mainly because their ways to track earnings. how men and women work differently. but even accounting for all of that the gender discrimination does narrow. but it doesn't vanish.
no comment on the 3/4 one. but i guess in some campuses the numbers might be 2/4? or 1/4? or 4/4? depending? i don't know. just nit picking here since you said these 3 examples don't exist. i.e fabrications.

If you talk to any left wing people they will tell you how bad blacks had it in US, they completely ignore that white people were slaves at the same time. There were more European slaves being sold to arabs then blacks brought by boats in US.
They also tend to ignore that black people would sell other black people in to slavery and that Europeans have done more to end slavery then any other. They literally went to war to end slavery.
Most care only about black slaves in the US and nothing else because they want black people to be perpetual victims.

Well contrary to popular believe. alot of lefties do acknowledge that their were white people as slaves in america. from italians, to irish, to jews, and probably even germans. but yeah their whole thing surrounding slavery is kinda bullshit. as they believe slavery was invented by white people, and only used by white people to enslave non-white people. they're pretty fucking dumb.

First thing for me that comes to mind when I hear it is the last decade in entertainment where diversity/representation trumps story quality or taking groups and making some mandate that they have to be included in every story.
Definitely when I hear anti-Christian, anti-white, etc rants I think woke since it seems to be so trendy
A while back, when woke stuff was still not that obvious, my wife was watching some spy tv series and there was a black guy in it. I was not watching the series but I caught about 5 mins of an episode.
I told my wife that the black guy that appeared to be a bad guy is not really the bad guy and he will help the main character later.
After a couple of episodes by wife was shocked how fast I could determine what was going to happen. After some time I had to tell her that there was no way they would make the only black guy bad.
I think I ruined a lot of movies for her. I also explained I was doing that with mystery/ investigation movies. The rule was simple 80% of time is the white guy and 19% of time is the white woman.
I've also started picking up on the anti-Christian, it was there earlier then the anti-white or gay stuff.
It’s ruined entertainment because like you pointed out it is so easy to predict. This is why I tend to watch stuff from 2014 and prior. I know that’s an arbitrary year but that’s when I started noticing the craziness. My brother was pointing out how he notices every scientist/female is a female and of course we have the black/hispanic female who is a genius engineer. I’m pretty sure that all stems from the constant women in STEM push.
One thing I love about the free streaming services like Tubi and Pluto is that they have a massive amount of older tv show as well as older BBC shows before they went all “down with whitey”. I do suggest you support Great American Family. Basically Hallmark geared towards Christians. Nice to have a channel that doesn’t crap on your beliefs and values

seemed obvious to me that the majority of judges are male. i mean just look at the supreme judges

You know how many times I’d get chewed out in different forums for saying “create original characters and stop with all the race and gender swapping”. All they have accomplished is that people see a black, female, or other diverse lead and they pass on it.
