First thing for me that comes to mind when I hear it is the last decade in entertainment where diversity/representation trumps story quality or taking groups and making some mandate that they have to be included in every story.
Definitely when I hear anti-Christian, anti-white, etc rants I think woke since it seems to be so trendy
A while back, when woke stuff was still not that obvious, my wife was watching some spy tv series and there was a black guy in it. I was not watching the series but I caught about 5 mins of an episode.
I told my wife that the black guy that appeared to be a bad guy is not really the bad guy and he will help the main character later.
After a couple of episodes by wife was shocked how fast I could determine what was going to happen. After some time I had to tell her that there was no way they would make the only black guy bad.
I think I ruined a lot of movies for her. I also explained I was doing that with mystery/ investigation movies. The rule was simple 80% of time is the white guy and 19% of time is the white woman.
I've also started picking up on the anti-Christian, it was there earlier then the anti-white or gay stuff.
It’s ruined entertainment because like you pointed out it is so easy to predict. This is why I tend to watch stuff from 2014 and prior. I know that’s an arbitrary year but that’s when I started noticing the craziness. My brother was pointing out how he notices every scientist/female is a female and of course we have the black/hispanic female who is a genius engineer. I’m pretty sure that all stems from the constant women in STEM push.
One thing I love about the free streaming services like Tubi and Pluto is that they have a massive amount of older tv show as well as older BBC shows before they went all “down with whitey”. I do suggest you support Great American Family. Basically Hallmark geared towards Christians. Nice to have a channel that doesn’t crap on your beliefs and values
You know how many times I’d get chewed out in different forums for saying “create original characters and stop with all the race and gender swapping”. All they have accomplished is that people see a black, female, or other diverse lead and they pass on it. My brother and I were talking about how our first assumption is that it’s going to be the one millionth lecture about race, sex, etc.
