The idea of "constant growth" is Corporate ideology that they have poisoned us into thinking its necessary. A hobby doesn't need indefinite growth, it doesn't need to live forever, and it certainly doesn't need to breach other markets.

In can in fact simply exist on its own with its partakers enjoying its existence in their own way until they die or move on. That doesn't make the company absurd money however, which is why they convince people that it needs to be constantly gaining more people and welcoming constantly.

So, as always, Leftist talking points are just them being stooges for the corporations they claim to hate while they whine about not getting the toy they didn't even want in the first place.

That's what led to World War I. The constant growth mantra stopped because they had taken over the world and and now only had each other to battle. The Bismark take over style was completely misunderstood and so many thought they could follow his moves just as wisely. Heck, they still believe that today.

That's really what blue ocean marketing is about. Stop aiming for the same territory everyone else is. Too many think it means break into niche markets to grow instead of making something new.

Makes me think of Budweiser. Tried to reach a new customer base, instead of being content at being the most popular in the market, and they managed to piss off their current demographic, making a significant portion leave and never come back.

Its much worse than Budweiser. Those are consumable products, so you technically need to continue giving them money indefinitely to recieve the "service."

Warhammer and other hobbies are one and done. Once you've got your figures and a rule book you basically never need to give them a dollar again. They need to draw you back with newer and cooler things to keep the money flowing.

It's funny, cause the leftists usually love to point this out anytime. But somehow in hobbies it's "different".
