Bowman has agreed to pay the maximum fine of $1,000 for one misdemeanor count of falsely pulling a fire alarm — a charge that carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail. He will also provide a formal apology to Capitol Police.
Where’s the disrupting official proceedings charge like the one they tried pushing on the grandma given a guided tour by capitol police
And unlike a mob of people where you have to wonder who was who in any "plot" to actually disrupt, in this case the perp and the motive were entirely clear.
I don't know that you can ever have fairness in a system where prosecutions are optional. In no case does anyone challenge the ability of a DA to not bring charges. Therefore which charges are brought is up to some guy's opinion. That he is an elected guy doesn't make the justice meted out any more fair. I don't really have a solution.
I don't think you can have fairness, but you can have order I guess. Because what happens is the crooks get in good with law enforcement, who is again perfectly allowed to selectively not prosecute his friends. As long as he stays popular. That's a form of order.
They released the video and he literally walked up, peeled the signs off the door, pulled the alarm, and walked off without even pretending to open the door.

he should be going to the exact same gulag for the exact same amount of time.
More - as someone who invents the laws he should be held to a much higher standard
He should be in Owen Shroyer's place right now.

To quote a Skeletor meme: "A fine is just the fee it costs to commit a crime."
Of course, it helps when you get the employee discount.
But he was just trying to open the door right?…..right?

I know. I was being silly because he had a ridiculous excuse
He thought it would open the door, which is why he walked away after pulling the alarm without ever turning towards the door.
