How about removing the whole "unless they're inconvenient for the government" exemption for the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms.
That and limiting immigration to sustenance levels are the only things I want to hear out of a federal politician.
It's a two-edged sword. On one hand, it allows governments to do whatever the hell they want. On the other hand, it prevents judicial lawmaking. I've never figured out whether I prefer a system with or without judicial review.
That seems rather narrow. You need to ban mandates by "private" corporations, academic institutions, and provincial government, among others.
