All the "conservative" small businesses around me are chomping at the bit to hire these guys because "Americans won't work." What's stopping them is you need a housing setup to hire a crew of illegals full time.

I don't know what to believe about the lazy Americans thing. Farms will swear up and down that nobody will be a farmhand no matter how much they pay. Economics says that's wrong but what if everyone in the area is genuinely going after college or welfare or disability?

farmhand no matter how much they pay

Hard doubt on this. There were a few smattered news articles here and there back in the days of Trump that basically amounted to 'Lack of illegals resulted in wage increase with actual fucking Americans stepping up to the plate to fill the job role'.

They got silenced pretty quickly, though. Can't imagine why. (I can totally imagine why.)

Every time the matter of illegals 'working the jobs americans won't' gets brought up, the masks come off - everything from 'We need our toilets cleaned and we can't do it ourselves' to 'It'll result in the cost of food going up'.

You know what? I've got no problems with that.

'It'll result in the cost of food going up'.

Yeah, I mean we already absorbed 20% or more food cost increases due to retarded Bidenomics. If that 20% was due to employing Americans instead, that would be way more than worth the trade.

Exactly. You offer people $250k to be a farmhand I guarantee you'll see Americans applying to work a farm again.

Honestly, if our society can't operate without a slave caste then maybe we really ought to just go without one and force the issue out into the open to get addressed.

Or just actually have slaves and make the slaveowners wholly responsible for the upkeep of their property.

No, I don't like that outcome. I object to it on principle and I don't think you could convince me it could be managed in a moral way without the entire nation first readopting a Christian moral framework. We see how badly wage slaves are treated, how much worse would it be if those slaves were no longer paid or treated as anything other than property? It wouldn't be the paternal slavery of the 1700s and 1800s America, it would be the slavery of the Carribean sugar plantations where you'd see them simply being worked to death in the fields and replaced without so much as a second thought.

It wouldn't even have to drive up the costs that much. Just break up the big ag totally not monopolies and have stores cut out the middle man. The big companies love their illegals because it cuts overhead and boosts profits.
