Things like #bantheadl are obviously orchestrated by -- wait for it-- the ADL. I'm not going to get bogged down arguing something about the JQ: we know that groups like ADL or JIDF thrive on the perception of "antisemitism". It would be much more believable if #whywastheADLfounded was trending.

Strikethroughsis another undocumented feature. A bunch of Reddit formatting works here, although I think some of the more complex stuff isn't supported.~~text~~ to strikethrough.
I believe .win implements base Markdown, while Reddit has a few extensions to Markdown they've implemented on top of the format.
