I know a guy who got a great deal on his house because the landlord told him if they kicked out the squatter and all his shit he would repay them with low rent. They all just showed up, forcibly removed the squatter and threw all his shit on the lawn then got the locks changed the next day after they moved all their stuff in that night.
Similar thing happened with a guy I used to know back in Essex.
The man had land out Canvey way, and a bunch of gypsy squatters moved in. First year was a gimme, as he wasn't prepared for it - it was an empty field, so there wasn't anything in particular to secure, but once they were in, the police refused to remove them, and by the time they'd finished conducting industrial clearances in his area and departed, the land was uninhabitable, so the council forced him to pay for the cleanup. The next year the gypsies came, there was a substantial fence and gate, so they dismantled the gate hinges, same again, same refusal to remove, same fines and fees to clear up the land.
The year after that, he'd put in a four-foot-high earth berm to keep their vehicles out so they couldn't dump industrial waste on his land. The gypsies responded by stealing a bulldozer and clearing the berm out of the way.
After that - three years in a row of endless expense - he sold the land.
The bit that got me was the council in question didn't even follow up about the theft of the bulldozer. That's how completely cowed they were by the squatters.
Shit like this is happening in the local area. One woman had a squatter finally evicted, and he now resides in the middle of a public road. No identification, visible weapons and drugs, travel trailer parked in the middle of a road... no police action.
Where is this (be as vague as you like, as needed)? Also, what kinds of weapons and drugs are on display? What kind of person/people is this?
I don't get people who do this shit. I think it's just lashing out and revenge, would by my best guess. Seriously though, there are plenty of better places to park a trailer.
Yeah, someone else just mentioned a similar story. Reverse squatting sounds hilarious.
And, yeah, I admit R2 stuff crossed my mind as well. It wouldn't be hard, considering the criminal lifestyle the squatters gleefully engaged in. That said, not the recommended approach, if you have any other options.
But I can certainly imagine, once someone gets desperate enough, a "gang dispute" just happening to occur. A tragedy.
I get the anger, but I just mean it can get you in serious trouble. Personally, I wouldn't do such things unless I had no other option, no matter how righteously pissed I may be. I'd rather have squatters than be in jail.
Although there would come a point where those priorities shifted, to be sure. And if the laws/enforcement don't change, more people are going to prove that.
Well, you will always know your house better than some squatters do. Like, where to insert a hose that might just happen to be attached to the back of the car.

Worked out well for everyone involved.
Reverse squatting, I fucking love it!
But Now the landlord has a physically stronger tenant - how does he remove the new tenant?
why would he need to, the tenant pays the rent
And is willing to clean up another person’s mess to get a house. I’d say that tenant will keep the house pristine.
There was a puff piece about a polar bear squatting in a house in the arctic circle. That would probably work.

Apparently the two people dead from drug overdose in the house wasn't enough to get the cops over.
This one's a doozy.
I'd go into more detail about my favorite parts, but it's a better experience to just let the story unfold. Enjoy!
Our country remains a very unserious one. Water is wet. More news at eleven.
Squatters should be treated as home intruders. End of discussion.
I mean, they are home intruders. So full Chad Yes they should be treated as such.
Next time just burn it down and collect the insurance.
Bane voice: "With no survivors."
Why ever not? According to liberals arson is perfectly peaceful.

Florida. Very surprised that it's not been covered by the news. Guy had pot and guns visible, and the cops didn't give a shit.
Guy is a hobo with no valid ID and is listed in police records as John Doe or obviously fake names, he keeps giving different answers.

"There's children trapped in the basement, too!"
[tank with flammable tear gas rolls up]
It's funny (and sad) because it's true.

Something like that carnie episode on The Simpsons?
