If everyone deserves healthcare are they working with local charities that help people in need? Lgbt people have rights but apparently the radical left thinks me not being interested in watching gay content is a Capitol crime. If black lives matter then why not call out destructive behavior or why not condemn inner city violence? Explain how having a diverse staff in and of itself makes it better.

If you want to protect the planet then why not use nuclear power? What about kids mining cobalt in the Congo?

Every time I see leftists discuss charities if there's enough discussion there will be a sidebar on the awfulness that is a Christian charity. They can't deal with the fact those horrible Christians would just do something for someone else, or that they might want to tell them about what makes them want to do a nice thing.

So, if it's a Christian charity, that's why they aren't, and those can be some of the largest charities in many areas.

The other issue with charity is that all progressives are statists. They view private charities as a threat to their notion of "the state is mother, the state is father." They want control, and if religious or non-religious organizations are tackling social problems on their own then they are encroaching on the power of the state (which progressives believe is rightfully theirs). When those stories of prosecutors going after people for feeding the homeless its always in a blue city.

This ties right in with their chant "solidarity, not charity"

It's the right to be an asshole.

Prior to the welfare state, you couldn't be an asshole to your kids because they wouldn't take care of you when you were old. You couldn't be an asshole to your neighbors because they wouldn't lend a hand to help you. You had to be friendly and personable to others to establish relationships such that people would miss you should you die and want to help you.

Today? Gibs. You don't have to be normal, you're entitled to other people's stuff. They don't have to want to give it to you, the state will put a gun against their head and take what they can get away with

That’s true. Most of any charity work I do now is through my church. Or we’ll have service weekends where you sign up from a long list of local area places in need and work for them for the day

Yep, it's typical lefty word salad; none of it means anything.

Today's political discourse is basically:

Lefty: I believe in doing good.

Righty: Okay, how?

Lefty: OMG, YOU ARE A LITERALL NOTSEE!! HOW DARE YOU OPPOSE GOOD!!!

Righty: I'm so sorry, tell me what to do.

Lefty: Cut your daughters arm off to make a pretend penis and tell her she's a man now.

Righty: [does so] Look! I'm tolerant too!
