As I said last time this came up

30 years ago (I.E. when most legacy parents went to collage) more than 70% of America was white. If those numbers show discrimination at all, it's the other way around

Not at the age of most people's college admissions.

It's not really fair to count 90 yr old white people who have virtually no chance of applying to college.

That said, the population of legacies is based on, duh, the population they used to graduate. Deal with it.

I went to school with a lot of people whose parents both graduated from this same university. It's a good school, so many of the progeny were brilliant. Some were dopes, but that's real diversity for you. To say that no these people can't continue their family tradition, preferentially, is bullshit statism. The relationship can be a long term transaction if you will.

And, as mentioned in the other post on this, Jews are counted as white, and are around 15% of admissions. So it's actually 55% white + 15% Jewish, meaning whites are underrepresented. And that's if you take the 70% number as accurate. Other data shows the gap as even greater.
