Hilarious how much of a market there is for well made comics, yet apparently we need more gay Superman
Gay Superman got cancelled. How the morons at dc didn’t see that coming I have no idea. I’m a massive fan of Superman and Spider-Man and for me to quit buying their modern day comics really says something
It’s about the “message” not the product anymore.
Bingo
I was going to make a joke about superman wearing a mask and fighting climate change (to push the latest propaganda message)
They already did it … :
“ So far, Superman's fought for the rights of immigrants (which makes sense, considering he is one), sparred with the military, and will soon take on climate change alongside his new boyfriend, Jay Nakamura.”

Edit: I’m really out of the loop - he’s fucking gay now also?
I want the poly/incest representation. Gay and Bi is more corporate than a big mac these days.
His son is gay, not Clark Kent.
Isom is not a well made comic
Even under that argument, being the top of a turd pile still makes it’s the most well made currently.
CONsoom
Yes the black Hebrew Israelites are in conjunction with the Jews to dominate a black libertarian’s comic series…
Alright, then just consume. Civilization's broken, but let's just buy more comics.
a lot of it is just hype from anti woke crowds demonstrating solidarity and purchase power, which is fine.
I haven't read it but yeah he's just starting out. Go back and read OG Marvel and DC and tell me if they're good enough to have an adult audience
I love early 60s Marvel and dc. When I can get a hold of them
It took around 40 days or so, and with still over a month to go there is a possiblity that it will match the success of ISOM #1, which ended with 3,7+ million.
Congratulations to Eric July!
Funnily enough I'm watching his livestream on that right now. Apparently his Comic-Con appearance went well. He got to meet Dean Cain and several comic book pros who reacted positively to his success.
Great to hear. My dream scenario would be that he gets so big he makes an offer they can’t refuse to marvel and DC. Then he gets Dixon and others to revive the once great characters. A man can dream. But I’m honestly excited about getting ISOM 2 soon. Also can’t wait to learn about Yaira and Alpha Core. As I said before that metal band is most interesting for me
Man needs to merch a pair of mugs labelled "Marvel Tears" and "DC Tears."
Glad to hear it. I ordered my copy. Also look forward to reading about Alphacore that Chuck Dixon will be doing as well as Yaira that the Soska Sisters are working on. Although I’m really interested in that metal band introduced in ISOM 1 that talked about Angels/Demons/Fallen Angels
Dixon already wrote a second book for the Rippaverse. Could be Alphacore #2, but it has not been announced yet.
As for the band, July noted that there is a lot of interest. A good guess is that there will be a book or series about it at some point.
Is every character black?
Even if they are, it is pretty much exactly what I asked for; make your own characters and mythologies rather than race swapping every damn thing. I am not going to even begin to be salty about a black man making up his own superhero universe and selling it on its own merits.
The way comics have been lately, it would actually be refreshing if there were no White people in the comic. That the conflicts were solely between blacks, latinos, mid-easterners and asians. A comic in which no straight White man gets blamed for anything... EVER!
No. ISOM is. The other characters who have comics coming out aren’t (ones done by Dixon and Soska sisters).
Are you asking for representation?
