“It was really alarming at first because I’ve experienced injury throughout my career, but it’s never been anything like this that could turn into something detrimental if it’s not taken care of,” he said. “It was frightening at first, but now I’m at ease with it. I’ve prayed and just given it over to God. It’s out of my control, and the only thing I can control is my effort and attitude and how I approach each day moving forward.”

I kind of wish these athletes would say something about all of these incredibly rare conditions hitting them at their physical peak...but I don't blame them for staying quiet.

All I know is I've seen more 'rare' medical conditions hit healthy people recently and it isn't some sort of bias, the numbers don't add up. The question is how many until people can't help but notice.

I can think of one more thing he could have controlled...

You just know the media will blame the virus and not the vex. "Long covid" can do mysterious things after all.

Must have been from the tackle. Didn't you guys see the wildly violent tackle that nearly killed him by crushing his heart? The one where he got hit in the chest protector so hard he didn't even fall down? It's obviously the only explanation.

The tackle was so powerful that it caused the same condition in a dozen professional soccer players.
