This is why it won’t really matter when AI takes over all communicative work. Journalists, marketers, etc. have all but run on an organic AI script for the last decade. Just the same old tired stories about why you need to be offended by this thing, or that thing. Even if it’s not offense, it’s the same old phrases (“didn’t see anyone who looks like me,” for example). We won’t miss real writers because we barely have any already. Just semi-conscious brains all pumped full of the same limited thoughts, writing the same articles over and over again.
Edit: Also, an Asian woman named “Ann Lee” would probably get articles about how obvious and stereotypical the name is if she’d been a character in a film!
Is the movie any good? I wanted to go with my wife but we did not find anyone to stay with the kids but now I'm not even sure I want to go. All I hear about the movie, from both sides, is how it is female centered but in a good way?!? Is the scientologist still the main hero?
It’s fine but forgettable. I wouldn’t say it’s “female centered” so much as egalitarian. There’s parity of men and women in prominent roles but it feels organic, as in these characters are involved for logical reasons, rather than some girlboss muscling her way into the story to put the men in their place. And, because Scientologist man is based, they’re good looking gals to boot.
A couple of the action sequences, while inventive, go a little long.
She's an assassin, presumably she's got better things to do than talk? Plenty of movies have had assassins/fighters that don't have much dialogue...and most aren't Asian. But apparently if you do something you've done plenty of times, but the person has the wrong skin color, it's suddenly a big deal? I think there's a word for that...oh, yeah, racist; the people complaining about 'silent Asian' are actually, by definition, racist.
Ah, yes. Because when people think of Asians, they think of Awkwafina, not... every other Asian on the planet.
On a totally unrelated note, does anyone know a word equivalent in meaning to 'wigger' for Asians? Because that phenomenon is coming. The forces that drove a wedge between Black Americans and the rest of America, and then destroyed Black culture before targeting Whites, will be coming for East Asians next.
