Apologies for the lack of links, but this has been squeaking out all over the place. Details can be found on Kiwifarms when its up, and some were posted to 8chan.moe a couple days ago. It's a shitshow.
Soyjak was a /b/-tier shitposting site that had a massive dark side. Despite the site often raiding loli boards on other sites and communities to brand lolicons as "pedophiles", it turns out that the admins of the site were running a sophisticated and secretive grooming operation behind the scenes. They would make kid-friendly memes and offer free Robux to entice kids to the site, where the site admins themselves were spamming CP when traffic was up to desensitize the kids to it. Then some were selected and invited into a grooming Discord, where they were pressured and eventually blackmailed into producing CP and cutting themselves. At least one suicide is confirmed but people who knew about it have claimed there were many more that weren't documented. This all got out because of mod chat leaks by a disgruntled member of the pedo group matched up the admins' IP addresses to ones that were all over the logs for CP spam, and people started digging. Come to find out the owner of the site is a gay man in court for child molestation in Tennessee.
They also had raid groups that used abandoned TF2 chat servers to coordinate attacks on streamers, minor e-celebs, and anyone who threatened to expose the group. They sent CP to peoples work emails disguised as spam so it would go unnoticed, and basically "gang-stalked" targets across the Internet. They wouldn't touch the person but would attack any community the target was in whenever the person went there, to make that community become hostile to the target and isolate them. One bragged about "targeting their mental health directly" with this tactic.
There were minor rumbles about all of this back in April, but apparently enough finally got out that it blew up a few days ago and the owner pulled the plug on the site in a panic. He's trying to sell the domain now. Several people in the chan-o-sphere have been noticing a large rise in secretive IRL pedo activity across swaths of the alt-site Internet over the past year, but this is the latest and loudest exposure of it that I'm aware of. Soyjak had been raiding 8chan off and on for months prior to this, notably with some emphasis targeting the GG threads with soyface.jpg and CP spam. All the while claiming that 2D loli art was what they were protesting against.
I'm beginning to think "don't trust anyone who vocally hates anime lolis, because they're guaranteed to be a fucking pedophile" is becoming an iron law. 8chan GG did a quick tally and there's been over 500 such cases just in the last few years, with the infamous Dr. Pizza being just one tiny but well known example.
If you do anything more than just not consuming media that has loli characters and go as far as to call yourself 'anti-loli' then there's a good chance you're projecting to hide your own skeletons.
I've seen too many twitter freaks accounts declaring how much of a pedo loli fans are yet they defend Cuties. And that's just surface level, I ain't risking going to places like these where I could see REAL CP.
I'm thinking we need to age gate the Internet, there's too many predators getting organised because western authorities turning a blind eye till it gets TOO HORRIFIC to cover for that it simply isn't safe with restrictions, which you'd hope parents would do but I'd rather ban them till they're 16-18 if no ones going to step up and protect their kids online.
Every time I see someone trying to brand lolicons as pedophiles, it always makes me raise an eyebrow.
Cause the only ones I ever see do it are the terminally online left. And then, inevitably...
Thing is, I can't figure out the why. Jealousy? Confession through projection? Just straight insanity? What?
Yeah, maybe I don't want to know.
The ones we dealt with who went mask-off were all some variation of "REEEE IF I CAN'T FUCK REAL KIDS THEN YOU CAN'T HAVE THIS! SEE HOW IT FEELS BIGOT!" Most of the time they're just acting like smug moralist assholes until, as you said, "inevitably..."
There's a pattern that I've noticed and that I wish there was a word for. It's like. "I'm guilty of doing something that I know is terrible, and so when I want to accuse someone of being terrible, then the first thing I always think to accuse them of is the same thing that I'm doing because its always at the forefront of my mind." Its related to projection, but the thought process is more succinct and different because it gets applied to the most random situations where the accusation makes little sense. Its got vibes of the Telltale Heart, where instead of the guy just freaking out at the end he starts randomly accusing the police of being the REAL murderers.
It's a variant of the typical-minded fallacy, imo. That's my take on it, atleast.
If you're not familiar with it; TLDR, you assume that the way 'you' think is identical to the way others think.
Maybe people see animated depictions of children being sexualized and are disturbed by it? No, it couldn’t be that.
I think the New Testament offers some solid guidance on the matter (by way of inference, because anime hadn't been invented yet).
Loli, created by adults, harms you, but no innocents. If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. You ought to stop, but you get to live.
Child abuse? Jesus Christ himself passed judgement on that one, and his recommendation was you kill yourself because there are worse sins than suicide.
People who don't think it's possible to oppose both are missing the fact that in the foundational work of Western morality, desiring the wrong thing and doing the wrong thing are both sins. "You shall not covet thy neighbor's wife" and "You shall not commit adultery" are separate commandments for a reason - not least of which because desiring something sinful is the first step on the road to acting on that desire.
Perhaps it is my own blindness outside my moral foundation, but I cannot fathom how anyone could fail to see a good-faith objection to producing or consooming sexualized images of fictional children. To me, it is impossible not to reach the conclusion that both are bad, even if one is far worse.
For me I can certainly understand how one could object in good faith. My issue doesn't come with "I think this is bad." My issue, and I suspect it is similar for most others, comes due to the fact that those objections are always a razor's edge from the continuation of "...and I think it should be banned."
Add in the context under which this discussion tends to be had. Things like anime and manga have held out against woke retardation and caving to moralist retards much better than other mediums. There's a general consensus that all it will take is a single major crack to form in that armor before the floodgates open and a lot of good shit gets ruined.
All that to explain why virtue signaling how much one hates lolis is irritating.
I mean, intentionally misspelling it is a bit too much... And I think you meant "antis are the real pros"
There's a sociopath reaction you'll see in some people where if they see higher order emotion - joy, happiness, etc - it reflexively makes them angry.
That's who I've always suspected it is. In women it's the fat woman who waddles over and is hysterical that you're flirting a bit with her friend.
It's projection almost 100% of the time from the loudest activists.
Unfortunately, age-gates often come with digital ID methods.
I guess one other way to go about age-gating could be to put the legal burden on (ir)responsible adults. IE, make it illegal for adults with Internet access to allow access to minors. Make it fineable, possibly prosecutable.
Not easy or practical to enforce of course, but a bit more preferable to typical nanny-state methods that might be pushed.
It's one of those things you feel like should be put in place but when you go through it logically and logistically, you see all the flaws that come with it.
It's like the death penalty if you don't have a robust legal system. There's some criminals that should die to protect the rest of society but giving that power to a morally corrupt legal institution is too risky.
This is the way it should be, imo. Parents have ultimate responsibility over their kids, not the state.
They should just ask your year of birth and then ask you to rank Hot Chicks from the time period in a period-appropriate order.
also without making a real id system. something i would vehemently oppose as it would be a corrupt tin tyrants dream, we just gotta take their think of the children argument and shove it up thier ass. as mark twain said censorship is like telling a man he cant have steak because a baby cant chew it, no more child proofing the net. teach parrents how to use a hosts file to premptivly blacklist sites and share a black list the less top down control the better also ditch mobile.
