My suspension is that the Reserves mostly ignored the shot mandates and waited it out. They have other jobs that they don’t need to suck on the military teet. The rest of the military complex are either Yes Men who happily took the clot shot or have been labeled as expendable (by fighting the jab.) It’s a full on removal of any resistance.
Edit: My second suspicion is that the military does not have enough people due to the mandates. I know of at least 5 military members who bailed when they could. They asked a total of 100 others and they concluded about 5 would remain.
It’s door number three: recruitment is in the toilet because the military has turned into yet another gay tranny debacle. The southern conservative white boys who used to make up the majority of fresh meat are turning their backs on the service, and with the full support of their multi-generation military families.
Fwiw, my extended family and their contacts are rife with vets and not a single one recommends joining up. Doesn't matter the branch, they all actively advise against joining.

I suppose from a very warped perspective, it's a tiny bit like reinforcing a province in a Total War game with a unit or two just in-case a bordering nation might attack.
Except in this case it's an ally's territory we're reinforcing and the player's been playing some shady shit with agents and geo-political diplomacy shenanigans which is why the player is worried about retaliation.
If the goal is to enact Article 5 and formally declare war by putting your troops dangerously close to enemy fire at the border, that's one way to do it. It worked for FDR.

Depends on what mos they're trying to get. Some are in short supply that's only getting shorter.
Riflemen? Sure. Trainers for the missile systems? Not a lot of those guys out there.
