This was obvious to me and everyone I was talking to in the Spring of 2020. Only retards who got all their information from Big Tech thought differently. This does showcase Chinese incompetence quite nicely though. Imagine creating a bioweapon and it turns out to less severe than the common cold. All the damage done to the West was self inflicted.
It sure was a convenient way to stop the Hong Kong protests and develop new neighborhood quarantine methods that could be deployed at a moments notice on a compliant public, though as the other comment says the timing could also have been an accident.
Shutting down foreign economies, encouraging lockdowns through a bot propaganda campaign on twitter, and helping the Democrats steal the US election was a side benefit. Never let a crisis go to waste.
One of my pet theories is that the CCP wanted to use COVID to murder all of China's old population in order to spare the government the need to take care of them.
But one of the more likely possibilities is that the CCP wanted to unleash COVID or something like it hoping that it would be devastating to the West & facilitate China's rise.

Good chance the CCP goal was to release COVID intentionally in the US once it was "complete" but it escaped the lab early.
Are there any stats that show if their "murder the elderly" plan worked, assuming it existed? I'd be curious about that. The death toll would have to be big enough to make a substantial dent in the welfare budget.
China continues to hide its COVID death toll. We may be able to put it together in a few years through indirect data, but even that is difficult because the CCP has put a ban on almost every kind of data imaginable to cover up its economic decline.
I saw figures on the chans that used cell phone and power consumption (sat photos of power plants not operating during peak power use times) to estimate that ~20-25 million Chinese died. This led to the Chinese giving out second phones to people for free and running power plants at low power settings.
Now, some of that figure may have been the CCP cleaning house, but it's the only non-spitball number I've seen.
I don't think it is incompetence. They didn't want it to be that deadly. They wanted it to be just deadly enough to scare mass amounts of people into complying
And even if, it worked. Look how the masses complied on every governments whim. How "2 weeks to slow the spread" turned into over 2 years of dystopian hell. How kids, who were almost completely unaffected, needed to wear face pampers in school, which fucked with their ability to speak. How people needed to say goodbye to their loved ones over fucking skype. Constant talk over how the unvaccinated (me included) should be barred from all society, and not even allowed to buy food without tests. How every possible death, even when crushed by a moving car, suddenly counted as "covid death". And how the lockdowns, together with the absolute flood of government orchestrated propaganda were more deadly than the virus itself. There were more suicides than actual COVID deaths. I could go on.
Countless of lives lost - over nothing but the elites hunger for more power over the populace. And suddenly propaganda pieces about "lets have covid amnesty"? FUCK OFF
No reason a bioweapon needs to be particularly virulent. If its just bad enough to do economic or cultural/phycological damage its a good weapon. In fact, the idea of a non-virulent bioweapon is a pretty good one.
Virulent means it spreads, no? COVID was that. It doesn't have much of a payload. But that could be because it's experimental.
