Burlington middle school students reportedly tore down Pride banners, chanted "U.S.A. are my pronouns," and glared down students and teachers supporting Pride.
They GLARED! Is this new the Sandmann?
According to a letter to parents from Marshall Simonds Middle School Principal Cari Purchase, the incident took place during a school-approved spirit day celebrating Pride month on Friday, June 2. The spirit day was requested and sponsored by Spectrum Club — a student group for LGBTQ+ students and allies.
This is the gayest paragraph I've ever read.
As part of the event, the letter said, Spectrum Club decorated the school with handmade “Happy Pride Month” signs and educational posters with messages such as “Why it’s not ok to say ‘That’s so gay’.” The club members also put up rainbow streamers and Pride flag banners, handed out rainbow stickers, and invited students and faculty to wear rainbow clothing.
That's so gay.
But throughout the day, some students showed their disdain for the event in a number of ways. The letter said students were seen “being inappropriate” with the stickers and tearing down the banners and signs.
Other students tried to intimidate faculty and students showing support for Pride through glares, chanted “U.S.A. are my pronouns” in the halls, and wore red, white, and blue clothes with face paint in protest of the event, the letter said.
Based.
“I fully respect that our diverse community has diverse opinions and beliefs. I also respect individuals’ right to express their opinions through clothing choices and freedom of speech,” she wrote. “When one individual or group of individuals’ beliefs and actions result in the demeaning of another individual or group, it is completely unacceptable.”
Bahahahahahaha.
To help remedy the situation, Purchase said the school designated a meeting time during which students could express their concerns to administrators and created an anonymous form for students to report specific hateful incidents. She also said the school would look into providing a program that would teach students tolerance, acceptance, and respect.
I’m so glad to see so much pushback. I graduated in 99 so this wasn’t pushed. I can only imagine how parents in my Bible Belt community would’ve reacted
Really? I didn’t hear about pride month til my 20s. I remember hearing about gay parades in California as a teen but that was about it. But like I said, most of my upbringing was in heavily traditional Christian areas so that wasn’t prioritized.
I traveled a lot as a kid. My parents are middle class type doctors and scientists. We moved too often to actually be middle class, so no one believes me when I talk about where I grew up. This is how I know where everything is in random places, I lived there. I count Hawaii and the PNW as home but lived in every western state, Scotland, northern England, and Germany.
The highschool I graduated from had the only gifted program in the area. It was also the biggest ghetto school. It was 50% black, 30% Mexican, and the white kids were often pressured to be gay or something to be different like everyone else. Imagine Hogwarts in the ghetto and you're at a good start. Since I was in the gifted program they just expected I was gay and Jewish. This proved especially true if I did a play or acted.
At the same time I was working at TV stations and got my first college degree. I also did internships at a space agency and helped study how the atmosphere bounces solar radiation and other objects on earth and Mars. Imagine Napoleon Dynamite had a really interesting life and you have me.
I've since gotten into history and anthropology, which got me to study videogames culture and History. This led to me working at conventions with arcades. The first group I met was arcade collectors and they invited me to shows. Eventually I wanted to make something that combined all of my talents. I imagined a place that used tech to tell stories that you participated in.
With Covid and the PNW dying I decided to move to Florida and get a degree in themed design. I also got married and became a foster parent.
So they forced you to be gay just to keep to your head down and blend in. And this shit is in the 2000s, whereas most people thought this is only a thing post Trump. Having a white minority group is probably why the social experiments started at places like your school.
You don't need to do an AMA, I already got what I wanted. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
These leftists and "progressives" can't get it through their heads that THEY'RE the establishment now. They control literally everything. They're the ones neurotically on guard against counter-revolution and clinging to power. Now THEY'RE the ones that the young punks are having fun triggering. It's fun to see.
They're experts at squeezing blood from the Stone of Oppression no matter how much power they have. Despite the fact that the federal government and just about every state government officially endorses state sponsored homosexuality, they managed to convince themselves that Florida making it illegal to groom children under a certain age is LITERALLY Hitler LITERALLY taking over the entire country and LITERALLY turning America into a fascist state. Literally.
The only way they'll ever believe they're not the scrappy underdogs is when there is nobody left to disagree with them, no matter how politely.
Name a single time a single communist ever considered themselves the establishment.
The best you can say is that some of the pragmatic Communist leaders understood that they were no longer revolutionaries fighting against an imperial order, and you can still count them on your hand.
Most modern Leftists are Trotskyites, and he never believed he could be the establishment, even when he was in charge of the Red Army.
"Offering somebody respect and dignity, as you would hope to have returned to you, should be a pretty straightforward endeavor,” Select Board Member Nicholas Priest said.
Hey be fair, fags and trannies (but especially trannies) have a high prevalence of autism and one of the issues autists have is discomfort with eye contact. Another weakness is asking them to do any work whatsoever, since trannydom and leftism go hand in hand.
That kids are even subject to mandatory pride events proves that the Prussian model of compulsory education is utter dogshit, but I'll take the silver lining once in awhile.
It sure was a good strategy decision on their part to convince people that this isn’t a debate but rather one side is “on the right side of history” fighting for liberty and justice and whatever, while the other is hatred and oppression and evil. It worked well for a really long time. It convinced like a third of the cohort now in college and high school that they must be gay or non-binary or trans or dragonkin or SOMETHING other than normal.
Looks like the cohort coming up behind that cohort has other ideas though. Between this and the Muslim kids stomping the rainbow flags, I think we might be moving somewhat back toward “debate” rather than “good vs evil”

Doubling down.
THAT'S SO FUCKING GAY - FTFY
But lgbt clothing and flags are demeaning to normal people

2000, and I saw a ton of it.

I was actually pressured to be gay or at least overly sexual. It was awkward admitting I liked girls but not as much as I pretended.
Sorry to hear that. I definitely didn’t have to put up with that
Could you lean more into that please? I'm genuinely curious about your upbringing.
Did they thought you are gay because you don't talk about girls or you don't have much interest in getting one?

You were in Fagafornia.
But north of that. I saw a lot of this in San Francisco in the 80's.
Dissent from the meta-narrative is verboten.
