Yeah Ted Kaczynski Was Right is objectively true but the linked blog (is it a twitter thread?) is weirdly fawning over the mentally disturbed man (thanks MKUltra), especially the first and last stanzas with: "Money spent by FBI to find him: $50+ mil" and "NEVER LET THEM TAKE YOUR SMILE".
I also could never agree with his final solution of destroying all the technology. It's not effective (at best you'd end up with a technomancer priest class that controls and keeps it away from commoners) and technological progress is the only progress that does give massive benefits to civilization, despite its drawbacks.
Its a very bizarre logic. "People's future looks unpleasant from my pov, so lets have them not exist instead.". Its the vegan pov on farm animals applied to humans.
Ludditism is never a reasonable solution, even if the technology introduced may lead to negative consequences.
The Bronze Age Collapse absolutely has something to do with come Italian, Mediterranean, and Southern European people's getting access to Iron. It would have been easy to declare that the Iron Age had been a disaster for man kind if you had been living in one of the civilizations at the time. But the answer of destroying Iron is obviously ignorant and childish. You need to acquire Iron weaponry, make your own, and use it to facilitate your civilization.
I see the same shit with people screaming about AI now. You need to adopt AI, not desperately hope you can prevent it's existence. You need to have your AI.
The Butlerian Jihad is a perfectly rational solution.
