It's CBS, they'd call hunting down pedos 'persecution of a minority trying to express their freedom to love'

That made me feel sick cause I know they'd do that..

"Gender affirming care"

This is why "conservatives" lose, they immediate adopt the language of progressives instead of refusing to play their retarded word games.

The GOP-controlled Texas Legislature on Wednesday approved a bill that would ban gender-affirming care for minors.

The bill, which now moves to the governor's desk, bans hormone therapies, puberty blockers and surgeries for people under 18 in the state.

At least they’re honest about the disgusting practices that constitute “gender affirming care”

An exception was made for transgender minors who were already receiving care before June 1, 2023. However, the bill said those children "shall wean off" any drugs prescribed for the purposes of gender-affirming care. The bill does not specify how long patients would have to stop taking the drugs, only that it should be done "over a period of time and in a manner that is safe and medically appropriate and that minimizes the risk of complications."

Eh, that isn't wonderful. Why weasel out of your decision in the details.

Maybe cutting off the drugs cold turkey can cause severe adverse reactions?

They have no problem doing that with opiates, which are far, far more addictive.

In fact they shut off peoples opiates constantly without any 'weaning' required.

Opiate withdrawal is extremely unpleasant but not actually harmful. You'll be in hell for a few days, then you'll be fine.

Suddenly stopping hormonal "treatments" could, theoretically, permanently ruin your endocrine system. This is a sensible measure to prevent that.

That isn't entirely true. Opiate withdrawal is deadly for a decent percentage of people, especially those who use it to deal with chronic pain. The withdrawal combined with the pain coming back is too much for their bodies if they are in poor health or elderly.

Legally you are required to wean them off or switch to a less powerful opiate and gradually decrease the dosage to avoid those deaths.

There are probably legal read for the carve out. Makes it harder for an activist judge to put a stay on the law
