I guess so. I remember when I went to public school in the 80s and 90s people at my church would complain about the decline of public education. They would really flip out if they saw what goes on today

When I was in college, I came to realize that my recall of history and civics compared to the normal 18-22 year olds I was in class with made me seem like a flipping genius compared to them.

I appreciate this example, because it’s one thing to hear “reading comprehension is down” and another altogether to have such a stark illustration given of what that means. That’s crazy to me.
