I don't know enough about Crowder/Daily Wire deal because I'm not a fan of either entity. Crowder's an asshole and the Daily Wire is textbook Orthodox Zionist news.
...But I'm reminded of Louis Rossman and the contract he was offered by VICE. He rejected it, told them he wasn't interested in working with them. He uploaded a youtube video where he went through the contract to explain just what they had tried to rope him into - a deal that would've seen them own absolutely everything and put them in full control of him.
'Of course the first offer is one sided, you're supposed to negotiate!!!!'
Rossman told them to get the fuck out of his sight because he could not ever trust someone that would ever try to fuck him over to that degree. He did not want to ever work with a company that considered it morally acceptable to make an attempt to just utterly screw someone over if they weren't business savvy, because it's a guarantee that they would try to fuck him as much as they could not matter what.
Pretty much. people need to stop letting people try to screw them in private
Yep. I have no love for Crowder but the DW deserved to be put on blast for offering such a shitty contract enshrining being in the good graces of big tech firms that they are supposedly at odds with as big monetary incentives in the contract.
Why do you think that Jester alt you're talking to is taking their side? He wants the conservative media personalities under Daily Wire for narrative control.
Ok dude
No sympathy for Jews that attempt to offload all the risk onto their talent. Especially because Ben Shapiro actually started out supporting cancel culture. It's a good thing for dirty laundry to air out once in a while. It gives your average conservative a reality check.
Now Steven is kind of a douche, but I'm glad he made himself useful.
Maybe, maybe not. But if it was a kamikaze mission then I salute him.
Do you also hate it when conservative outlets grift off the cause or is that OK because it's mostly out of sight, out of mind?
Did anybody see that interview Dave Landau did with Michael Malice? If half the shit Dave said about Steven is true then he’s a greedier Jew than Ben and Co. could ever hope to be.
That’s unfortunate. I enjoyed Dave immensely on the show.
I haven’t watched since last year when they had the whole contract debacle.
Not only that but Crowder knifed the Daily Wire in the back to try to make himself look like some sort of "rebel outlaw" when he was just being a shitty person who betrayed people who saw him as a friend, all just to get a little more hype to make a quick buck.
I will never understand why it was Crowder betraying his friends to publish an insultingly bad contract, but not those friends betraying Crowder when they offered that contract. The usual response is “it’s an opening offer! You’re supposed to negotiate!” but are you telling me that if you drew up a contract to employ one of your friends, you would intentionally draw up an awful, one-sided deal for that friend under the assumption they’ll go through and throw out every bad clause? Then what, you slap them on the back and go “good job buddy, you saw through my prank, let’s go a drink!” If they were foolish enough to accept, would you stop them from doing so? I know you’re a lawyer, but that still seems harsh.
Not only that, but crowder was proven right about how horrendous the contract was with Walsh getting the YouTube axe. Unless Walsh just lost 30% of his income doing so, DW offered an immensely shitty deal intentionally.
That’s the most insane part. The Daily Wire claims to be an anti-(excessive) censorship, conservative, non-mainstream organization, and then it makes a contract where its employees are greatly punished for running afoul of the most mainstream of leftist standards. There’s “unfair opening offer” and then there’s “structured in such a way as to fundamentally undercut the entire alleged premise of the company.”
All questions of “fairness,” “negotiation,” and “friendship” aside, that contract deserved to be leaked simply because it exposes a massive open question about The Daily Wire’s commitment to its claimed values. Hypothetically, if I join “the organization to oppose cannibalism” and someone leaks that they stop their employees from saying cannibalism is bad, I don’t give a shit about whether the leaker was betraying trust or not and I don’t care if it turns out you can get permission to say cannibalism is bad if you ask nicely—I want to know why the organization to oppose cannibalism ever took that position on any level.
For some of those people it's because (((DW))) can do no wrong.
