Hale was under a "doctor's care for an emotional disorder," Drake said, and Hale's parents "were under the impression that was when she sold the one weapon" they believed Hale owned. "As it turned out, she had been hiding several weapons within the house," Drake said.

In the sane world, I would agree. However, when our current benefactors in DC are the ones who would be deciding who is crazy and who is sane, I would not trust such a system.
That's right. They are. That's the whole fucking point.
The people who founded the country realized that the people have a right to have some means of defending themselves (as meager as it may turn out being), when shitbags in the government - just like the current leftists infesting our government - are making decisions such as, "I wonder if we could get away with just rounding up every single person that didn't want to perpetually wear masks and take the COVID vaccine like we said to, and send them to some sort of internment camp, until they relent?". It's there to give us a chance - by means of waging war against them, and to give those tyrants a bit of pause.
They are absolutely weapons of war. They're not for plinking. They're not for hunting. They are there as yet another check and balance on assholes taking control of the government, and using the power of that government to deprive people of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Just because there are mentally insane people using those guns to do horrible things, doesn't mean the right is any less absolute.
Just because a Muslim shoots up a gay night club, doesn't mean that the government gets to throw out the First Amendment, and start getting in the business of banning religion.
Just because yet another transgender person, who subscribes to the whole leftist "religion" of Pride/LGBTQ++, shot up a Christian school, doesn't mean that the government gets to throw out the Fourth Amendment, and start searching every transgender person's house, seizing all their computers, and looking through them to see if anyone else has written any manifestos promising violence.
You don't get to throw out our Constitution because there are crazy people who do bad things. I'm so tired of seeing people - especially the people in our own goddamn government, people that took an literal oath to uphold and defend our Constitution - act like it's something that can be disregarded; act like the things laid out in it are some sort of privileges that are extended to us, that can thus be revoked. They're not, and they can't. The principles described in it lay out what are believed to be our fundamental rights, and it then goes on to lay out restrictions - on the government - so that those rights cannot be infringed upon.
There is nothing in there that says, "Oh, but in the case that crazy people are shooting innocents, you can throw this all out, and restrict whatever you want." Fuck!
TL;DR: The Second Amendment is for hunting governments.
Very well said, sir.
You know in all these shootings the perpetrator is already in violation of numerous laws
This particular shooting would have never happened if society had the balls to give the troons a choice between acting like civilized human beings (ie not being troons) or the gallows with no third option.
Like murder…. We should just ban murder
Exactly
Desperate attempt at distracting from the issue at hand.
"How many more children must we kill before you give in to our demands??!"
Fuck. You.
The only correct response is "All of them."
McConnell may be able to get away with repeatedly stabbing the base in the back but the House GOP doesn't have that luxury. Republicans in both chambers would do well to remember that McConnell's scheme to win over "swing voters" by trying to out Democrat the Democrats on guns did nothing to stop the Dems from stealing the election anyway.
The FBI will continue to supply weapons to people under the effects of MKUltra until you ban firearms!
we need an assault tranny ban
Teching permit only with recurring proof that they know how to use a weapon.
