I don't even understand why it's a problem. Modern women will hitch up their skirt and twerk if there's a camera within 20 feet.
I partly blame the ESRB. They've been so much more stringent regarding their ratings than in years past.
Pinball FX3 had to censor blood on a sword in Medieval Madness' logo, among other things, because of them.
There must not have been much blood in the game because the esrb does not tell devs what specific thing pushed them over for their rating. So if they gave it a T for blood and that’s the only thing with blood that would narrow it down. The more insidious part is the esrb will charge the same amount if they reapply for a rating (and it’s not cheap).
So say a devs market research says their game would do best marketed for Teen audience but one thing in one level pushes what the devs thought would be considered a suggestive theme over the line into sexual content. Earning it an M. Now the devs has to guess what specific thing crossed the line, change it, and pay again and resubmit if they want to get a T rating. And hoping that they guessed the thing that the one rater said crossed the line. And there is no guarantee the same person is even rating the game.
Have to expect alphabets of one sort, to carry the torch for alphabets of another.

There was an actual achievement for doing that in Lollipop Chainsaw; a very decidedly female-focused "grrl power" game. These people literally invent their own problems to get upset over.
On PC mods will fix it
This shouldn't need mods imho, just play the original and don't give them a dime if they cannot make the game as it should be. Its a weird hill to die on but I hate censorship in any shape or form, a remake that just cuts something like this for OBVIOUS reasons pisses me off.
I'm not against pirating it. I had the same problem with the mass effect legendary edition, is fine, the modifications are minor but it did put me off
Pirating is yet another option, sure. I was more thinking about emulation. Especially GC emulation has come a long and upscaling it works wonders.
