Is this some type of re-election stunt? Being pro-Ukraine is popular so he has to go prove he is pro-Ukraine?

Nah I think this is "him" doing the job the people who paid for him want him to do. I think the war is, whether >50٪ popular or not, controversial.

I also think it is very likely Biden drops out of the election.

Biden was always a follower on Ukraine, not a leader. He only did what the media and Euros told him to do.

Ukraine is one of the few areas that Biden has done generally well in that the Americans haven't committed troops

No president would have committed troops, because the ruling classes are not suicidal.
