Goes without saying they have no ideas. Matlock , Heat of the Night, Little House on the Prairie, and Walker Texas Ranger were shows my grandmother watched religiously and I enjoy the reruns when I can. Im sure the female Matlock will fight against the patriarchy. Honestly it would be so easy to make a show about a female lawyer. As for King of the Hill, as a Texan I love how it lovingly pokes fun at Texas culture but I doubt with it being on Hulu that we will see that.
Best thing to do is ignore them and stop feeding the reboot beast. Someone told me the night court reboot wasn’t bad but I’m just so tired of reboots in general as well as race/gender swapping
Mike Judge is a brilliant satirist, A modern King of the Hill could be great; age up the characters, maybe Bobby is married with kids and he’s a little more like Hank, Dale is full Q-anon, Bill is a trancel, etc. If Mike Judge doesn’t cuck and gave us a full bore, unvarnished look at today’s culture it could be excellent. I don’t have my hopes very high though, given its on hulu.
Dale would see Q-anon for the psyop that it is
This made me think, a good direction to go with Dale is that he is now always CORRECT and only believes things that are likely true irl, but because the world is crazy the things he says are more ridiculous than ever
I could see Dale be in it at first but then with all the analysis in his basement he sees them as the psyop they are
Indeed. Redditors takes on Q were weirder than Q itself.
But isn’t the joke with Dale that he’s wrong about everything?
The overall joke of Dale is that he's extremely paranoid about the government, but he's being blatantly cucked by a savage and "his" kid looks just like the savage.
Mike Judge really is one of a dying breed.
I still watch King of the Hill reruns and love Officespace.
B&B reboot turned out to surprisingly good. Well adapted to the modern setting without being too much in the face.
I heard that and that they mocked some woke stuff like white privilege
Mike Judge is great and I agree it could be good. I heard that he isn’t a leftist but like you said I can’t trust Hulu. Just look every new show they have. Some teen girls and lesbianism. I would cancel if they didn’t have a great catalog of older shows. Currently watching Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue on Hulu.
Yeah I'm suspect. I'm rewatching king of the hill now and it's a feel good show. I don't want that ruined. Futurama is also being relaunched on hulu, and I'm worried they'll go woke. I won't hold my breath, and I already know one episode is vaccine focused, so I'm sure I'll be disappointed.
WTF. The final ending was graceful, why ruin that. Don't answer, I know why.
Exactly what I was thinking. I loved the ending to the original series and the brief revival. Like you said it can’t get any better
Futurama was already woke. The last few seasons had multiple retarded episodes. And this is coming from someone who thinks the original series run is the height of comedy.
You don’t think the Amazonian episode could be done today? Kidding. But that was funny
I loved King of the Hill and Futurama but I don’t trust Hulu one bit. I definitely get your concerns. Simpsons and king of the hill are shows I can watch over and over
See, for me the show couldn't work if they aged them up as although they did it with joseph it made a ton of sense (they wanted him to be a more prominent character and do the usual "teenager" stuff). If things like the cleveland show or all of the wwe on E! things taught us, it's that creating shows based entirely off of side-characters never amounts to success and massively tarnishes what love you had towards the main series. I have a feeling this'll last maybe 20-30 episodes before low viewership cancels it altogether, with us then getting a king of the hill movie that ties in his beavis and butthead universe to it.
Kathy Bates is playing Matlock. She is a good enough actress to just create a show around
While I admit this is an interesting casting, I still ask: why do it at all? I'd probably tune in for a few episodes of Kathy Bates playing a rustic attorney, so why the reboot?
Exactly! She is a good actress so it would be easy to just make a show about a folksy attorney.
That’s what I heard. So it would be easy to do something like that. She played a great character in Misery so she has an amazing range
I don’t trust it either. I know Night Court reboot is a continuation about the daughter (because nobody on tv can have a son) of Judge Anderson
I too look forward to Bill dressing up as his ex again and grooming Bobby to be his eunuch lover.
Lol. Well that was a good episode but with modern entertainment who knows. The one sliver of hope is that Mike Judge is talented
That girl ain't right...
It's still bobby.
Yeah it was a sad day when I realized most of the original ideas had dried up.
Everything is a reboot, refit, relaunch, remaster, spin-off, or sequel. There have been some fantastic movies in that time, but good luck catching them in theaters. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, MO was fantastic 5ish years ago as was Coda last year.
That last one really surprised me -- with it being AppleTV and winning best picture and all -- but it's true. Maybe it's just because an original idea is so refreshing... but I really enjoyed CODA
What’s it about?
Protagonist is not deaf. Her entire family is deaf. She is torn between being their translator/helping with family business and her passion... music.
She's really good, but her family doesn't and can't understand.
Interesting. Will check it out.
I'd be willing to give a King of the Hill reboot a shot, but it is 2023 so you have to be careful with everything.
Understand. If Judge is still involved I’d definitely be interested in at least seeing one episode but I’m so wary of modern entertainment
Oh yay just What I needed
Destroy the past so you can re-write the present. Re-write the present so you can write the future.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatlooooooooooooooooooock!
Anime has the occasional reboot, but who has time for that?
There is so much new content I can't keep up!

I trust anime reboots. It seems like a western reboot is mostly made by people who hate the original and like Rings of Power they set out to “fix it”
My experience with anime reboots:
1- Watched Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works TV. The movie version wasn't bad but TV is better.
2- Skipped Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's supposedly more faithful to the manga, but I enjoyed the first adaptation and never read the manga so that's not really a selling point for me.
3- Watched Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- the Animated Series because most of the episodes were stories that weren't included in the first adaptation, so it's more like a new season than a remake.
4- Watched the 2006 version of Kanon because I didn't know there was a 2002 version. Haven't seen a compelling reason to go back and watch the original.
5- Skipped the Berserk golden age movies. From the title I get the impression it's a remake of the original TV series, so meh. I'd expect the animation to be improved, but TV is just a better format for long story arcs.
6- Haven't seen the new Sword Art Online movie yet. From what I understand, Progressive is a remake of the original Sword Art Online books. With Sword Art Online being under fire from leftists for having rapey villains makes me uncertain if the "Progressive" title isn't just a coincidence as the author attempts to appease those critics through a remake.
Rapey villains? Well wouldn’t that make them a bonafide villain?
Leftist logic. It's not supposed to make sense.
Check out this review. It smells like it came out of hollywood:
